Its fabric is made from 63% recycled cotton and 33% recycled polyester, meaning 96% recycled fibers. The cotton comes from scraps and previously made textiles, while the polyester comes from collected plastic bottles. In practical terms, no irrigated cotton fields or barrels of oil were used to make most of this bag. That makes even more sense for a tote bag: its purpose is to replace single-use bags, trip after trip. And because the yarn is spun in Spain and then woven in France, in Charlieu, the material never crosses an ocean before reaching your kitchen.
