When the mountain decides
Leaving Chamonix, the KIIRUNA2 mountaineering backpack on our shoulders, the day promised to be radiant. But the mountains always retain their mystery. Upon arrival at the Col de Bellachat, the clouds rolled in, hiding the peaks and erasing the horizon. There was no question of giving up yet: we had to adapt by heading for Signal Forbes, where a window of light pierced the thickness of the sky.
In your pockets, in your LUULEA fanny pack, or in your bag, everything has its place. The mountains demand the essentials, nothing more.
The PTARMIGAN2 trousers , supple and sturdy, accompany every step. The cold bites, but the TETRAS jacket protects, waterproof and faithful. Under the jacket, the discreet warmth of the SWYPA sleeveless fleece keeps the heart warm. And when the wind intensifies, it's the GEBO hat , made of recycled wool, that keeps the head nice and warm.
On more technical sections, the UKPIK softshell jacket comes into its own: flexible, lightweight, and breathable. It's easy to forget about, whether you're walking or climbing the rocks. Robust enough to cut through gusts, yet fluid enough to follow every movement.
So, despite the clouds, despite the receding horizon, the hike becomes an inner journey. The silence of the ridges, the rush of the clouds, the fragile light clinging to the ridges: everything contributes to the adventure.
Because in the mountains, beauty is found as much in the unexpected as in the unobstructed view.
