HEYDO2 Hoodie: the warm puffer for breaks at altitude

In mountaineering, the cold hits not during exertion but when you stop: at a belay, while getting your gear out, or early in the morning outside the refuge, when your hands are already reaching for your gloves. HEYDO2 Hoodie is made for these moments, and packs away easily in your bag the rest of the time.

Lofty insulation designed for comfort down to -20°C

Its warm, lofty recycled polyester insulation is designed to provide thermal comfort down to -20°C, while weighing just 620 g. The windproof, water-repellent outer fabric made from ECONYL recycled polyamide, free from PFAS, blocks the dry, biting wind sweeping across ridgelines and shrugs off a passing drizzle without becoming waterlogged.

Details designed for use with gloves

The YKK Vislon 3 mm two-way front zip lets you unzip from the bottom to access your harness without exposing your torso. Two YKK 3 mm zipped handwarmer pockets warm your fingers during stops, while the elasticated hood and hem, along with the stand-up collar, lock in the heat generated on the climb.

PERFORMANCES

Comfort at -20°C: puffy recycled polyester insulation at 620 g

The warm heart of the HEYDO2 Hoodie is its 100% recycled polyester insulation, weighing 150 g/m² and chosen for its loft: it’s the pockets of air trapped between the fibers that retain body heat, not the material itself. The product team rates its thermal comfort down to -20°C, at a weight of 620 g that’s still manageable in a mountaineering pack.

This insulation only works well if the wind can’t pass through it. The 55 g/m² ECONYL recycled polyamide outer fabric acts as a windproof barrier, while its PFAS-free water-repellent treatment lets powder snow or a brief drizzle bead up instead of soaking in and flattening the loft. An elasticated hood and hem, plus a high collar, close off the openings through which heat usually escapes.

YKK Vislon two-way zipper and zipped pockets: easy to operate with gloves

The 3 mm YKK Vislon two-way front zipper makes a real difference to how you wear this down jacket in the mountains. Unzipping it from the bottom gives you access to your harness, gear loops, or pack belt without exposing your chest to the full force of the wind. The Vislon’s wide teeth are also easier to grip with gloves than a fine coil zipper.

The two handwarmer pockets, secured with 3 mm YKK zippers, are primarily there to warm your fingers between pitches, and their closures keep you from losing a phone or a pair of lightweight gloves when bending down on a ledge. These are small usability details, but they can determine whether a down jacket stays on your back or ends up at the bottom of your pack.

HEYDO2 Hoodie, the second insulating layer in the Lagoped system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend in with the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air close to its body. It never wears more than it needs; it adjusts.

HEYDO2 Hoodie occupies exactly this place in the Lagoped layering system: the midlayer, the second layer, whose role is to generate and retain heat. It is worn over a technical baselayer next to the skin that wicks away sweat, and under a waterproof outer layer when rain or snow sets in. Its windproof fabric also means it can be worn on its own as an outer layer in cold, dry weather.

Fit & support

HEYDO2 Hoodie Regular Fit Jacket: room for layers underneath

The HEYDO2 Hoodie is a men's down jacket with a Regular Fit cut—not tight or baggy. It leaves room for a base layer and a fleece underneath without pulling at the shoulders when you raise your arms to rope up or put on your pack.

A hem and hood that stay in place

The elasticated hem sits snugly on your hips and keeps cold air from creeping up your back, even with a harness tightened over it. The elasticated hood fits directly over your head and stays in place in the wind, while the high collar protects the lower half of your face as soon as you zip it up.

Under an outer layer without adding bulk

The jacket's moderate volume lets you slip it under a waterproof shell when the weather turns, without compression or restricted arm movement.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
