NAGALAKA: the hiking windbreaker that fits in a pocket

On a high-altitude trail, the wind rarely picks up when you expect it. NAGALAKA is designed for that exact moment: 180 grams of windproof fabric that you can pull out of your pack in seconds, put on without stopping, and stow away just as quickly once you've crossed the ridge.

Lightweight 78 g/m² fabric that blocks the wind

The jacket is made from 78 g/m² recycled polyester fabric, woven and dyed in Isère, with a fluorine-free water-repellent treatment to withstand a brief shower or a stretch beneath moisture-laden trees. The fabric also provides welcome UV protection on long stretches exposed to full sun.

Details designed for day hikes

Two zippered hand pockets with reversible sliders, back ventilation to release heat on the climb, an adjustable hem to keep out gusts, and an adjustable hood. The center zip and pocket zips are 3 mm YKK Vislon. The jacket packs into its own pocket and disappears into a corner of your pack.

PERFORMANCES

180 grams of packable protection you always take with you

The real selling point of NAGALAKA comes down to two figures: 180 grams on the scales and a fabric weight of 78 g/m². At that weight, you no longer have to wonder whether to bring it along, which is exactly what you want from a hiking windbreaker.

The jacket packs away completely into its own pocket, so there’s no extra stuff sack to lose. The tightly woven recycled polyester blocks the wind, the main cause of heat loss on ridges or mountain passes, while the fluorine-free water-repellent treatment makes water bead off during a passing shower. The fabric also provides UV protection on long crossings in the full summer sun.

Back ventilation and YKK Vislon zippers: regulate your temperature without stopping

An effective windbreaker has a well-known drawback: it also traps the heat your body generates during exertion. NAGALAKA’s back ventilation solves this problem by letting air circulate across your back on the climb, without having to open the jacket or take off your pack.

The front zipper and two hand pockets use 3 mm YKK Vislon zippers, with molded teeth that are easy to operate with thin gloves and stand up to trail dust. The pockets’ reversible sliders let you open them from either end, a useful detail when a pack hip belt is cinched tight. The drawcord hem rounds things out by keeping cold air from getting in.

NAGALAKA, the lightweight outer layer of the Lagoped system

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend in with the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to protect itself from the cold and smooths them down as soon as the temperature rises. It constantly adapts, never wearing more than it needs.

NAGALAKA follows the same principle: it serves as the outer layer, the third layer, cutting the wind and protecting you from a brief shower without ever weighing down your pack. In mild weather, wear it directly over a technical base layer, or over a lightweight fleece when the temperature drops. As soon as you pick up the pace again and the wind dies down, it packs away into its own pocket.

Fit & support

NAGALAKA regular fit: a jacket you can pull on over anything

NAGALAKA comes in a regular fit, neither slim nor loose, with enough room at the shoulders and armholes to wear over a technical T-shirt or lightweight fleece without pulling across the back when you raise your arms.

The hem drawcord lets you cinch the jacket at the waist when the wind picks up, or leave it loose on the way up to let air circulate through the back vent. The hood adjusts to stay in place in the wind without restricting head movement. Once folded into its own pocket, the jacket fits into a backpack’s side pocket or clips onto a belt.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
