GEBO POW: the recycled wool beanie designed for mountaineering

At the start of a climb, you pull out your beanie before even putting on your crampons, and often keep it on until you get back to the car. GEBO POW was made for exactly that: keeping you warm in the dry cold of an early-morning approach, without itching or slipping under a helmet.

Recycled wool for warmth, a fleece lining for comfort

The knit combines 70% recycled wool and 25% recycled polyamide, for 77% recycled materials overall. Wool provides warmth and retains some of its insulating power when dampness sets in, while polyamide keeps the knit in shape season after season. Inside, a lining made from 100% recycled polyester feels soft against your forehead and ears, where raw wool would eventually start to itch.

50 grams that barely take up space in your pack

Weighing just 50 g, it rolls into a jacket pocket or slips under your pack flap without a second thought. The Lagoped logo is knitted into the fabric in jacquard, not attached: nothing to peel off, nothing to wear out from rubbing against your helmet.

PERFORMANCES

Recycled polyester fleece lining throughout the interior

Full fleece lining for the coldest days

The GEBO POW is fleece-lined throughout its interior, not just around the headband. This double layer traps a layer of air between the outer knit and the lining, and that still air is what really insulates. It’s the beanie for truly cold days, from windy chairlift rides to starts before sunrise. The outer knit is made from 70% recycled wool yarn, spun in Tarn without dye, and the lining is made from recycled polyester fleece, manufactured and dyed in Italy, where the beanie is knitted. The logo is knitted in jacquard directly into the fabric: it won’t peel off or wear out separately from the rest. The whole thing weighs 50 g and slips into a jacket pocket.

Fleece lining and jacquard logo: comfort comes from within

What makes a beanie stay on your head all day isn’t what you see on the outside, but what touches your skin. GEBO POW is lined all the way around with 100% recycled polyester fleece, including the front band where the wool knit presses most firmly. The result: no itchy forehead after the climb, and an extra layer of still air that boosts insulation right where the cold gets in first—around the ears. The Lagoped logo is knitted directly into the fabric in jacquard, with no glued-on patch or added embroidery that could eventually come loose under a helmet. A construction detail, but exactly what makes an accessory last for several seasons.

Fit & support

A unisex beanie to wear under a helmet and during breaks

GEBO POW is a unisex one-size-fits-all model: the recycled wool and polyamide knit stretches to fit your head without squeezing your temples after two hours on the approach.

Thin enough to fit under a helmet

The thickness stays minimal, fleece lining included, so your mountaineering helmet fits normally over it without having to loosen the dial all the way. Pull the edge up over the tops of your ears to hear your climbing partner, or pull it all the way down when the wind picks up on a ridge.

It’s also great away from the mountains

With its discreet knitted logo and 50 g weight, it stays in your pocket all day and comes out just as readily at the start of a climb as it does in town in winter.

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
