EVE, the 20,000 mm waterproof jacket designed for mountaineering

On a mountaineering trip, the weather gives no warning. You set off under clear skies in the early morning and find yourself two hours later in wind and sleet, harness buckled and pack on your back. EVE was built for that exact moment, when you don't want to stop or take everything off just to protect yourself.

Protection that stands up to wind and rain

With a 20,000 mm hydrostatic head, EVE withstands driving rain and wet snowfall without letting water through. Its windproof fabric blocks gusts on ridges and exposed passes, where the chill can set in within minutes.

Breathable and lightweight, so you can keep moving without overheating

A RET below 8 puts EVE among the most breathable jackets in its category: moisture vapor produced during exertion escapes instead of condensing beneath the jacket. At 570 g, it's a layer you can keep on while climbing or stow in your pack without weighing you down on a long day.

PERFORMANCES

Sympatex 20K membrane, RET < 8, 3-layer r-PET

20,000 mm water column: EVE stays waterproof when the rain sets in

You notice it straight away on a run: a jacket that lets water in at the shoulder, where your pack presses, can ruin the whole day. The water column rating measures the water pressure a fabric can withstand before it gives way. At 20,000 mm, EVE is among the best on the market and can handle several hours of driving rain or wet snow, even under the pack straps. The outer fabric, a 160 g/m² recycled polyester woven and dyed in Ardèche, gets a PFAS-free water-repellent treatment that makes water bead on the surface instead of soaking into the fabric: the jacket stays lightweight and doesn't get heavier as the downpour continues.

Serge 70D r-PET, 160 g/m2, 60,000 Martindale cycles

RET below 8: wick away perspiration without opening the jacket

Waterproofing is worthless if you end up soaked from the inside. RET measures a fabric’s resistance to water vapor passing through: the lower it is, the faster perspiration escapes. Below 8, the membrane is genuinely breathable, well below the threshold of 14 often used as a benchmark for technical jackets. In practice, on a sustained climb toward a pass with the wind in your face, you can keep EVE zipped up without feeling dampness build on your back. At 570 g, it feels like protection you forget you’re wearing rather than armor you take off every time the slope levels out.

EVE, the third layer of the Lagoped system for mountaineering

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when temperatures drop. It adapts constantly, never wearing more than it needs.

EVE follows the same principle. It serves as the outer layer, the third layer: the one that keeps out rain, snow, and wind while allowing sweat to escape, thanks to its RET rating below 8. It is worn over an insulating midlayer, such as a fleece or lightweight down jacket, which itself goes over a technical base layer next to the skin. Put it on when the weather turns, pack it away when the sun comes out, and adjust the insulation underneath according to the season and the intensity of the climb.

Fit & support

Active Fit cut: a women’s jacket designed for moving in the mountains

EVE comes in an Active Fit cut, designed for women and close-fitting without being tight. It moves with you when you raise your arms to reach for a hold on a rock step or adjust your pack. No fabric flapping in the wind, no restriction around the shoulders.

Room for base layers

This cut leaves enough room to wear a fleece or lightweight down jacket underneath, without compression around the armholes or the jacket riding up at the back. That’s the fit you want for mountaineering: a garment that stays close to your body in the cold and accommodates extra insulation when a break at the summit or on the descent runs long.

Coupe Active Fit

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
