SUPARIDE: the 3-layer bib pants for freeride skiing and mountaineering

A day of freeriding is rarely a straight line: a skin-track climb, a wait at the summit in the wind, then a descent with snow getting in everywhere. SUPARIDE is bib pants built for this sequence, with a 3-layer construction that protects you without having to think about it.

A 3-layer construction sealed against snow

The fabric offers 20,000 mm waterproofing and RET<13 breathability, backed by water-repellent 5 mm YKK Aquaguard Coil zips and fully taped seams. The internal gaiters and reinforced edge guards stand up to ski edges and crampons without giving way at the first contact.

Details designed for a full day outdoors

The suspenders adjust on the fly, the pants fasten with a snap button, and two zippered side vents let heat escape on the climb. For storage, there’s a zippered waistband pocket and a zippered cargo pocket with a safety attachment loop for your phone, so you don’t watch it disappear into the powder.

Freeride pants with a membrane: 20,000 mm water column

When freeriding, you spend the whole day in the snow: sitting on the slope, kneeling to put your skis back on, or sunk up to your thighs in powder. The SUPARIDE therefore features a 3-layer construction with a Sympatex membrane rated to 20,000 mm water column, meaning the water pressure it can withstand before letting a drop through. Its breathability measures up too, with a RET below 13: vapor produced while hiking uphill escapes instead of condensing. All seams are sealed with heat-taped strips, and 5 mm YKK Aquaguard zippers close the pockets. Two zippered side vents release heat, while stretch panels at the sides allow freedom of movement. The pants weigh 700 g in size M.

Adjustable straps

Adjustable suspenders keep snow out at the back

Freeride pants often let snow in at the waist: take a headfirst fall, and snow pours in between your jacket and pants. That’s why the SUPARIDE sits higher at the back and stays up with adjustable suspenders, keeping it in place without having to tighten the waistband. It’s also more comfortable all day long: the pants don’t slip under the weight of your pockets, and nothing presses on your stomach when you bend down to buckle a boot. They fasten with a simple snap button. A zippered cargo pocket has a safety attachment loop for your phone, while gaiters and a reinforced scuff guard at the cuffs round out the protection.

SUPARIDE, the outer layer for the lower body in the winter mountains

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when the temperature drops. It constantly adapts its protection, never wearing more than it needs.

SUPARIDE plays exactly this role for the lower body: it’s an outer layer, the third layer, that blocks snow, water, and wind while letting sweat escape. It’s worn over a close-fitting technical base layer, which can be paired with insulating tights on the coldest days. Zipped side vents let you adjust the temperature during your outing, like the ptarmigan, which adapts its protection to the time of day.

Fit & support

Regular Fit with adjustable suspenders: bib pants that don't restrict movement

SUPARIDE features a Regular Fit cut, neither tight nor loose, in a men's version that leaves room around the knees and hips for jumping, picking up speed through a tight turn, or stepping over a bump without the fabric pulling.

Bib pants that stay up without squeezing your waist

The suspenders are adjustable and keep the pants in place without squeezing your waist, making them truly comfortable when wearing a harness or backpack belt all day. The high bib and snap-button closure keep snow from getting in down your back when you fall in deep powder.

Room for a base layer underneath

You can wear technical leggings or a light mid-layer under the pants without losing freedom of movement, making it easy to adjust your outfit to the day's temperatures.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire, ni ajustée ni ample, avec assez d'aisance à la taille et aux cuisses pour superposer une couche isolante en dessous. Le bas de jambe reste suffisamment large pour passer par-dessus une chaussure de ski ou d'alpinisme sans tirer sur le tissu.
