SUPARIDE: 3-layer freeride ski bib pants for full days in the mountains

A day of freeriding is never a straight line: skinning uphill, waiting at the summit in the wind, skiing down through waist-deep powder, then taking the lift with soaked legs. SUPARIDE is built to handle the whole day without letting snow sneak in.

3-layer construction that keeps snow out

The recycled polyester fabric paired with the Sympatex membrane offers a 20,000 mm water column rating and a RET below 13, enough to handle wet snow without turning into a sauna on the climb. All seams are sealed with heat-bonded tape, and the 5 mm YKK Aquaguard Coil zippers are water-repellent.

Details that matter once your gloves are on

The adjustable suspenders and snap-button closure are quick to use. The zippered waist pocket and zippered cargo pocket stay accessible with a harness or backpack on, and a safety loop lets you attach your phone. The gaiters and ski-edge reinforcements stand up to knocks from ski edges and crampons.

PERFORMANCES

20,000 mm water column: SUPARIDE stays dry in heavy snow

On ski pants, water doesn’t come from the sky; it comes from below and under pressure: you sit in the snow, get up after a fall, or stand on a wet chairlift. The water column rating measures the water pressure the fabric can withstand before the first drop gets through. With a 20,000 mm rating and a recycled polyester Sympatex membrane, SUPARIDE is at the upper end of the market for this use. A high rating is useless if sewing needles create pathways for water, so all seams are sealed with heat-applied tape, and the 5 mm YKK Aquaguard Coil zippers are water-repellent. The PFAS-free water-repellent treatment also keeps the fabric from becoming saturated on the surface.

RET below 13 and side vents: manage heat on the ascent

RET measures how much a garment resists water vapor passing through it: the lower it is, the faster sweat escapes. Below 13, a skin-track climb or approach hike won’t leave your thighs soaked from the inside. But breathability alone isn’t enough when you pick up the pace. That’s when the two zippered side vents open directly onto your legs, releasing excess heat in seconds without removing your skis or undoing your suspenders. Close them at the summit, before the descent, and the membrane gets back to working continuously.

SUPARIDE, the third layer of the Lagoped system for the lower body

Did you know? The Lagoped, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when temperatures drop. It adjusts its protection constantly, never wearing more than it needs.

SUPARIDE applies the same principle as an outer layer, the third layer: it blocks wind, snow and water while letting out the vapor produced during exertion. It is worn over a close-fitting technical base layer, with a lightweight mid-layer added on the legs on very cold days or when waiting for a long time at the summit. For the upper body, pair it with a jacket from the same 3-layer family.

Fit & support

Regular fit SUPARIDE: men's bib pants that leave room for layers

SUPARIDE is a regular-fit pair of men's bib pants, neither tight nor baggy, designed to leave plenty of room around the thighs and knees when linking turns or lifting your leg high for a kick turn. The roomy fit accommodates technical base layers and, in very cold weather, a lightweight second layer on your legs without the fabric pulling behind your knees.

A bib that replaces the belt

Adjust the shoulder straps to the right length once, and operate the snap-button closure without taking off your gloves. The bib prevents a cold spot on your lower back in powder and eliminates the pressure point caused by a belt under your harness or pack hip belt.

Coupe Regular
