HEYDO2: the warm down jacket designed for winter mountaineering

At the start of a climb, when it is still dark and the wind sweeps across the refuge parking lot, you want a layer that warms you up quickly without weighing down your pack. HEYDO2 was made for moments like these: when you stop, belay, or wait for your partner.

Warmth rated down to -20°C

The product teams rate its thermal comfort down to -20°C, enough for most winter mountaineering outings: exposed belays, ridge breaks, and high-altitude bivouacs. The windproof outer fabric adds to the insulation, because in the mountains, it is often the wind, more than the thermometer, that lowers the perceived temperature.

650 g on your back or in your pack

At 650 g, it falls within a weight range that makes it easy to carry at all times rather than leave it in the car. The PFAS-free water-repellent treatment handles dry snow and brief drizzle without the fabric becoming waterlogged—a useful feature when the down jacket spends the whole day outdoors.

PERFORMANCES

Thermal comfort down to -20°C: warmth at the heart of the product

HEYDO2 is rated for thermal comfort down to -20°C, making it one of the serious insulation pieces in the range - the kind you pull out for winter outings and long waits at altitude.

This warmth isn't down to insulation alone. The outer fabric is windproof: it blocks convection, which is the heat the wind constantly strips from your body as soon as it blows across a permeable surface. On a windswept ridge, this is often what makes the difference between a tolerable break and one you cut short.

The microfleece lining against the skin feels soft and distributes warmth evenly rather than concentrating it in a few areas.

650 g and PFAS-free water repellency: a down jacket that stays in your pack

At 650 g for a piece rated for comfort down to -20°C, the warmth-to-weight ratio changes how you pack: HEYDO2 isn't the down jacket you hesitate to bring; it's the one that stays at the bottom of your pack all season and comes out at the hut or during a break.

The water-repellent treatment is formulated without PFAS. In practice, dry snow and droplets slide off the surface instead of soaking into the weave, preventing the down jacket from absorbing moisture and losing some of its insulating power over the course of the day. This is a surface treatment, not waterproofing: in steady rain, your outer layer takes over.

HEYDO2, the second insulating layer in the Lagoped system

Did you know? The Lagoped, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend in with the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap air and protect itself from the cold. It constantly adjusts its insulation, never wearing more than necessary.

HEYDO2 plays exactly this role in the layering system: the mid-layer, the second layer, which generates warmth by trapping air close to the body. It is worn over a technical base layer next to the skin and under a waterproof outer layer when the weather turns bad. In dry, cold weather, its PFAS-free windproof and water-repellent fabric also lets you wear it as an outer layer.

Fit & support

HEYDO2 regular fit: a puffer jacket that slips under your shell

HEYDO2 comes in a regular fit, a straight-cut men's style with room through the shoulders and chest without hanging loose around the body.

Room to move at the belay

This fit leaves enough room to pull the puffer on over a base layer and fleece, then raise your arms to belay or set up an anchor without the hem riding up above your harness.

Fits under an outer layer

It's still compact enough to fit under a waterproof jacket when the weather turns, with no tightness around the armholes or bunching across the back. On mild days, wear it as an outer layer; its PFAS-free windproof, water-repellent fabric provides surface protection.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.
