RUPRICAPRA: the technical headband that protects your ears without getting in the way of your helmet

Some mornings, a beanie feels too warm as soon as you start climbing, but the wind on the ridge quickly reminds you that you’re at altitude. The RUPRICAPRA headband is just right for those moments: it covers your ears and forehead, weighs 15 grams, and slips into a jacket pocket as soon as the temperature rises.

Warm yet breathable 240 g/m² fleece

Its stretchy fleece, knitted from 92% recycled polyester and 8% elastane, weighs 240 g/m²: dense enough to keep the cold off your ears, yet breathable enough to wick away sweat on the ascent. Its quick-drying fabric prevents a damp, cold band from sticking to your forehead during a break.

A water-based ink print designed to last

The pattern is made with water-based ink printing, a technique that preserves the fleece’s flexibility, unlike a thick print that would stiffen the fabric. Whether mountaineering, winter hiking, or skiing, it’s the kind of small item you end up leaving in your pack all the time.

PERFORMANCES

Water-based print, water-based ink with no rinsing step

A water-print design, with no water rinsing

The RUPRICAPRA’s design is created using water-printing, a technique where water-based ink penetrates directly into the fiber, eliminating the rinsing step, which consumes the most water in conventional textile printing. The difference is clear to the touch: nothing is layered on top of the fabric, so there’s no extra thickness or plastic-like effect that might crack. For a headband worn directly against the forehead, the absence of a coating matters for comfort as much as for the environment: the material breathes the same way throughout. The design is printed on recycled polyester microfleece, brushed on the inside, which dries quickly after a ski touring ascent. The headband weighs just 15 g and is made in Portugal.

Stretch elastane and water-based ink print: a secure fit that never feels stiff

The 8% elastane blended with recycled polyester gives the headband its stretch and recovery: it stretches to fit over your head, then returns to its shape and stays in place on a ski descent or during a climbing move, without you having to pull it back up every ten minutes.

The pattern follows the same principle. Water-based ink is applied in a thin, flexible layer to the knit rather than forming a rigid film on the surface. The fabric retains its stretch across the entire width of the headband, including the printed area, and stays soft against your forehead.

Fit & support

A stretchy headband that stays in place under a helmet

RUPRICAPRA is a unisex style that stays in place entirely thanks to the stretch of the fleece: the 8% elastane allows the headband to fit snugly around the head without squeezing the temples or leaving a mark on the forehead after two hours of walking.

It is worn directly against the skin, pulled down over the ears, and fits under a mountaineering or ski helmet without adding bulk, unlike a beanie, which often creates a pressure point. It can also be worn over a base-layer hood or pulled up over the forehead to uncover the ears when exertion raises your temperature.
