URSK2: the insulated ski jacket designed for cold days

A day of skiing is a constant back-and-forth: ten minutes sitting still on a chairlift in a headwind, then a descent where you quickly warm up. URSK2 is built for that rhythm, with recycled polyester padding that keeps you warm down to -15°C without making you pile on layers.

2-layer Sympatex membrane protection

The recycled polyester outer fabric is paired with a Sympatex 20,000 mm, RET<14 membrane that is windproof and waterproof. All seams are sealed with heat-bonded tape, and the water-repellent treatment is formulated without fluorinated compounds.

Features tested on the slopes

The removable snow skirt can be taken off on sunny days, stretch wrist gaiters keep snow out of your gloves, and the hem adjustment helps keep drafts out on the descent. For storage, there’s a hidden lift pass pocket on the left arm, a chest pocket and two zipped hand pockets, plus an inside pocket. The helmet-compatible hood adjusts at three points.

Perforated insulation that keeps you warm without turning your ski day into a sauna

During a day on the slopes, you alternate between stationary lift rides and high-effort descents. The perforated insulation in the URSK2 is made for exactly that: its perforations let air circulate and release heat instead of trapping it as you link turns. It has a fill weight of 100 g/m² on the body and 80 g/m² on the sleeves and hood, for comfort down to -15 °C while stationary, such as on a wind-exposed chairlift. The lighter fill on the arms gives you plenty of freedom of movement to plant a pole or put your skis back on. The insulation is made from 80% recycled polyester and manufactured in Bulgaria, while the inner lining is made from ECONYL recycled polyamide, woven and dyed in Isère. The jacket weighs 980 g in size M.

Sympatex membrane, 20,000 mm, recycled polyester

Warm and truly waterproof: 20,000 mm beneath the insulation

Many warm ski jackets rely on water-repellent fabric that eventually gets saturated in wet snow. The URSK2 pairs its insulation with an outer fabric featuring a Sympatex membrane rated to 20,000 mm hydrostatic head, meaning the water pressure it withstands before letting a drop through. All seams are sealed with heat-taped seams, and both the center zipper and chest pocket zipper are 5 mm YKK Aquaguard Vislon zippers with a waterproof coating; the handwarmer pockets have 5 mm YKK Aquaguard zippers. That means you can sit on a wet chairlift without giving it a second thought. The removable snow skirt and roomy, helmet-compatible hood with 3-point adjustment seal off the remaining gaps.

URSK2, an outer layer with built-in insulation

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend in with the snow, it fluffs up its feathers as soon as the temperature drops. It constantly adapts its protection, never wearing more than it needs.

URSK2 follows the same principle by combining two functions in a single garment. It serves as an outer layer, keeping out wind, snow, and rain with its Sympatex membrane, while its padded lining provides the insulation usually supplied by a second layer. In practice, wear it directly over a technical base layer on the coldest days, or over a lightweight fleece when the temperature drops even further.

Fit & support

Active Fit URSK2: a men's cut that moves with the skier

URSK2 is cut in Active Fit, a men's fit that's neither loose nor tight, leaving room for a fleece or lightweight down jacket underneath without pulling at the shoulders when you plant your poles or pull up a glove.

Adjustments you can make on the move

The hem drawcord lets you cinch in the silhouette on the descent, the stretch cuffs fit snugly around your wrists under your gloves, and the helmet-compatible hood adjusts at three points to stay in place in the wind without restricting your peripheral vision.

A removable snow skirt

The snow skirt is removable: keep it on powder days to close off the bottom of the jacket over your pants, or take it off in spring to make the jacket lighter and allow ventilation from below.
