A steep approach to a climbing route, a day of hiking in blazing sun, a long-haul flight followed by a trek: MILVUS was designed for those moments when you want one pair of shorts that can handle it all, without having to layer cycling shorts underneath.

Integrated liner shorts make climbs more comfortable

The liner shorts, knitted from recycled polyamide and elastane, hold the thigh without squeezing and prevent chafing on long approach hikes. Weighing just 146 g, the whole garment is easy to forget after the first few kilometers, and the 115 g/m² outer fabric dries quickly after a rain shower or a stream crossing.

Pockets that stay accessible with a harness or backpack on

Two front patch pockets and one at the back give you room to keep a topo, energy bar, or phone close at hand without anything getting in the way of hip flexion. The four-way stretch fabric moves with long strides, high steps while climbing, and fast descents.

UPF 50+ protection achieved through the knit, with no chemical treatment

MILVUS’s undershorts provide UPF 50+ sun protection not through a finish applied to the fiber, but through the knit construction itself: the density and structure of the stitches block UV rays. The benefit is tangible: this protection does not fade with washing, unlike a chemical treatment that wears off. On a day spent on a south-facing cliff or a high-altitude hike where the sun’s rays are more intense, it remains an effective barrier throughout the shorts’ lifetime. The outer fabric, made from recycled polyamide and elastane, completes the protection by covering the thigh without adding weight: the entire garment weighs just 146 g.

Built-in liner shorts and four-way stretch: one pair of shorts for everything

The benefits of built-in liner shorts become clear on the very first long outing: no more pulling on cycling shorts underneath, no more seams chafing the inner thigh, no more shorts riding up with a long stride. Knitted with recycled ECONYL polyamide and Lycra XTRA-LIFE, they retain their support over time, unlike standard elastane, which loses its stretch. Both fabrics, outer and inner, stretch in two directions: a high step while climbing, a stride over a rock step, or a descent with quick footwork meets no resistance. The front and rear patch pockets remain accessible with a harness buckled, without creating bulk underneath it.

The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to protect itself from the cold and smooths them down again when temperatures rise. It constantly adjusts its protection, never wearing more than it needs.

MILVUS follows the same principle. It acts as an inner layer, worn next to the skin to manage moisture: its integrated shorts wick sweat outward instead of trapping it against the thigh. In warm weather, it’s all you need. When the weather turns, you can layer leggings or waterproof overtrousers over it without adding bulk.

MILVUS Active Fit Shorts: close-fitting without restricting movement

MILVUS features an Active Fit cut, close-fitting but never compressive, designed for activities that put your legs to work: climbing, challenging hikes, and active travel days.

A dual-layer fabric that drapes just right

The outer shorts drape freely over the thighs, while the denser 175 g/m² integrated liner stays in place without riding up on climbs. The result: no fabric flapping around during a climbing move, and no chafing on the inner thighs during a long approach.

What to wear with them

Since MILVUS already has a layer that sits against the skin, you can wear it on its own. At the beginning or end of the season, it slips under lightweight tights or pairs with tall gaiters without adding bulk.
