PHANTOM HOODIE: the grid fleece designed for mountaineering

During a mountaineering climb, your midlayer spends the day alternating between sweaty ascents and stops in the wind. PHANTOM HOODIE was designed for this back-and-forth, with 260 g/m² grid fleece that retains warmth without trapping moisture produced during exertion.

Breathable, stretchy grid fleece

The grid knit alternates contact zones with ventilation channels: warmth stays trapped in the cells while water vapor moves outward. The 8% elastane moves with big arm movements, whether climbing or traversing in crampons, without the fleece riding up.

Details made for the climb

The full zip lets you regulate your temperature without taking off your pack, the zipped chest pocket keeps a map or phone secure, and the thumbholes keep the sleeves in place as you pull on your gloves. Snug cuffs block cold air, and the 3 mm YKK coil zipper remains easy to use. Chest embroidery adds the finishing touch.

PERFORMANCES

Recycled polyester honeycomb fleece

The warmth of grid fleece, with a hood

The PHANTOM Hoodie uses the same grid fleece as the PHANTOM: 260 g/m² of fabric with a raised grid on the inside. The raised sections trap warm air against the skin, while the gaps let sweat circulate. That makes it comfortable to wear all day, both on the climb and during breaks. The hood adds useful protection when the wind picks up on a ridge, and fits under a jacket hood without adding bulk. The garment weighs 365 g in size M. The fabric is made from recycled polyester sourced from plastic bottles, knitted and dyed in Spain, with a touch of elastane for ease of movement. The fleece is assembled in Hungary, and its 3 mm YKK coil center zipper stays flexible under backpack straps.

Integrated thumb loop at the wrist

The thumb loop, a small detail that makes all the difference when putting on a jacket

The thumb loop is a small opening in the cuff and one of the most useful details on a technical fleece. It stops the sleeve from riding up your forearm when you put a jacket on over it, so you don’t have to fiddle with the sleeve every time you add a layer. It also covers the back of your hand between your glove and sleeve, the part that gets cold first on a chairlift or while setting up a belay. On the PHANTOM Hoodie, it’s paired with a snug cuff that keeps the sleeve in place without squeezing your forearm, even when you’re pulling on your poles.

PHANTOM HOODIE, the second layer in the Lagoped system

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: it turns white in winter to blend into the snow and fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air. It constantly adapts to the temperature, never wearing more than necessary.

PHANTOM HOODIE follows the same logic: it serves as a midlayer, the second layer, which generates and retains warmth. It is worn over a technical base layer close to the body that wicks away sweat, and under a waterproof, windproof outer layer when the weather turns bad. In dry, cold weather, it is often enough on its own as an outer layer.

Fit & support

Active Fit: a fleece that fits between layers without getting in the way

The PHANTOM HOODIE is cut in an Active Fit, close to the body without being compressive. It’s designed to be worn directly over a technical base layer and slip under a waterproof jacket without adding bulk at the shoulders.

A secure fit thanks to the finishing details

The snug cuffs and thumb loops keep the sleeves from riding up when you raise your arms or pull on a jacket over the top. Wear the hood under or over your helmet, depending on the weather, and use the full zip to open it wide on the climb, then zip it back up at the summit. The elastane in the fabric lets the fleece move with you instead of restricting you.

Coupe Active Fit

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
