KEA Sports Bra: discreet support for climbing and hiking outings

Some pieces are forgotten as soon as you put them on, and that's exactly what you want from a sports bra when you're climbing one pitch after another or gaining elevation with a pack on. KEA was designed for just that: support tailored to moderate-intensity activities, especially climbing and hiking, without the compression of a running bra.

A racerback in breathable mesh that leaves your shoulders free

The racerback keeps your shoulder blades clear, and the straps stay in place when you raise your arms to reach for a hold or adjust your pack straps. The breathable mesh panel on the back wicks away heat where your backpack presses most, a detail that makes all the difference on a long approach.

A lightweight, breathable stretch fabric

The body of the bra is knitted from ECONYL recycled polyamide jersey blended with Lycra XTRA-LIFE elastane, at 225 g/m². It stretches in every direction, wicks moisture to the outside, and protects you from UV rays on summer outings. An elastic band at the hem provides support without constricting your rib cage. The whole thing weighs 93 grams.

Support designed for moderate activities, without unnecessary compression

Not all sports bras are designed for the same purpose. The KEA is made for moderate activities such as hiking, yoga, and sport climbing, rather than running: it provides support without compression, making it comfortable to wear all day. The front is made from dense 225 g/m² stretch fabric containing 78% ECONYL recycled polyamide, which supports the bust without squeezing, while an underband provides additional support instead of compressing the entire torso. The racerback, made from airy 110 g/m² mesh, frees up the shoulders, dries quickly, and lets you wear a backpack without its straps crossing those of the bra. It weighs 93 g in size M and is assembled in Portugal.

Swimmer back in breathable mesh and elastic band: stays in place without squeezing

KEA’s support comes from two features, neither of which relies on compression. First, the swimmer back: by bringing the straps toward the center of the back, it keeps the bra in place when you raise your arms for a high hold or adjust your helmet, without slipping off your shoulders. It’s knitted from breathable mesh that ventilates the area where a backpack presses most during an approach hike.

Next, the elastic band: it supports the bust with a simple band under the breasts, without underwire or pressure on the rib cage. That’s what makes KEA comfortable to wear all day climbing, including under a harness.

KEA, first layer of the Lagoped three-layer system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to protect itself from the cold. It constantly adapts to the temperature, never wearing more than it needs.

KEA plays the same role at the start of the system: it is the base layer, worn directly against the skin, whose job is to wick away moisture rather than provide insulation. Its jersey fabric transfers moisture outward, where the next layers take over. Wear it on its own in warm weather on the crags, or under a second insulating layer, such as a fleece or lightweight down jacket, topped with a waterproof third layer when the weather turns.

Fit & support

Slim Fit KEA Bra: close-fitting, without compression

KEA has a Slim Fit cut, fitting close to the body to prevent it from shifting beneath a midlayer. The support is designed for moderate activities: it stays in place during climbing or hiking without the corset-like feel of a running bra. The lower elastic band stays put when you raise your arms and doesn’t ride up over your rib cage.

A racerback designed for a backpack

The straps meet at the upper back in a racerback style, away from the area where backpack straps press down. The result: no extra bulk under the straps and no rubbing on the collarbones. Worn on its own in warm weather or under a technical T-shirt and a fleece, it stays in place just the same.
