On a trail that turns steep, then at a warm-up boulder at the foot of the climb, it always comes down to the same movement: lifting your leg without your clothes getting in the way. RIOUPOU was designed around that, with 4-way stretch fabric that moves with you instead of holding you back.

Lightweight fabric that moves in every direction

The fabric, made from recycled ECONYL polyamide and Lycra elastane, weighs 175 g/m², and the shorts weigh just 183 grams. Wear them for a day of hiking in the valley or a climbing session, and they pack away in your bag without taking up space.

Pockets that keep your essentials secure on the move

Two hand pockets and a front patch pocket, all with zippers: your phone, keys, and snack bar stay put as you tackle a climbing move or run for a bus in town. The belt loops accommodate a slim belt to fine-tune the fit for a long day.

RIOUPOU's knit blocks UV rays through its construction alone: the knit density and 175 g/m² fabric weight provide an UPF50+ rating without any added chemical treatment. This matters on an exposed ridge in midsummer or while waiting in the sun at the foot of a route, and, above all, this protection doesn't wear off in the wash like a surface finish would. It remains unchanged after a full hiking season. The same fabric provides the flexibility needed for activity, with 4-way stretch in both length and width, and a total weight of 183 grams that you'll forget about after the first few kilometers.

Three zippered pockets: keep your belongings secure when you lift your leg

You can quickly judge a hiking short by one simple detail: what it makes you drop. RIOUPOU has two hand pockets and a patch pocket at the front, all three with zippers. Your phone, keys, and hut card stay put when you bend down on a scree slope, step over a climbing hold, or sit on the subway on your way back. The front patch pocket remains accessible even with a tightly fastened chest pack, unlike standard side pockets, which become unreachable. The belt loops complete the design: a slim belt is enough to keep the shorts secure when the pockets are loaded on a long day of hiking.

RIOUPOU Regular-Fit Shorts: Room to Move Without the Baggy Feel

RIOUPOU is a men's regular-fit short, neither tight nor baggy, with just enough room in the thighs to climb a high step or plant a heel on a rock. The 21% elastane in the fabric does the rest: the fit returns to its original shape after every movement, without stretching out over the course of the day.

A waistband that adjusts as you wear it

The belt loops let you add a slim belt to tighten the waist when your backpack is loaded or when wearing the shorts for several days. Weighing 183 grams, they can be worn directly against the skin or over lightweight leggings in mild weather.

Coupe Regular
