TAPAKILA: the recycled flannel shirt that goes from the valley to the trail

Some days, you head out for a morning hike and end up in town that evening without going back home in between. TAPAKILA was designed for exactly that: a long-sleeved flannel shirt, soft enough to wear next to your skin and simple enough to fit right in once you’ve set down your pack.

92% recycled flannel

Its 183 g/m² fabric combines 55% recycled polyester and 42% recycled cotton, for a total of 92% recycled material. It has a medium weight: substantial enough to block a cool evening breeze, yet light enough to wear on an approach hike without getting unnecessarily sweaty.

Details that really matter

Seven buttons down the front let you open it up gradually as the temperature rises. A chest pocket with a buttoned flap keeps a card or phone secure when you bend over, and the Lagoped logo is embroidered on that same pocket. Nothing superfluous; it weighs 260 g.

PERFORMANCES

183 g/m² of fabric and 260 g on the scale: a flannel shirt you forget you're wearing

A classic flannel shirt can feel heavy as soon as you start walking. TAPAKILA uses 183 g/m² fabric and weighs just 260 g overall, a deliberate balance at the lighter end of the flannel range.

In practice, that means you can keep it on during a climb instead of rolling it up and stuffing it in your pack after ten minutes. The blend of 55% recycled polyester and 42% recycled cotton helps too: cotton gives it the softness and characteristic brushed feel of flannel, while polyester helps it hold its shape and dry faster than cotton alone after a shower or a strenuous climb. A compromise designed for days when the weather and pace change several times.

Buttoned flap chest pocket and embroidered logo: storage that keeps everything secure

An open chest pocket on a shirt isn't much use as soon as you bend over. TAPAKILA's has a buttoned flap: a card, lift ticket, phone, or pair of glasses stays put even when you bend down to tie a shoe or adjust a backpack strap.

The Lagoped logo is embroidered directly onto it, not printed: the embroidery won't crack or peel after repeated washes, unlike a heat-transfer print. It's the kind of detail you might not notice in the first year, but it makes a difference on a piece you keep for a long time, which is still the easiest way to reduce your impact.

TAPAKILA, the first layer in the Lagoped layering system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our spirit animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when the temperature drops. It adapts constantly, never wearing more than it needs.

TAPAKILA follows the same principle and serves as a base layer, the first layer worn directly against the skin. Its recycled-fiber flannel provides a first layer of warmth and comfort against the skin, without unnecessary bulk.

In cool weather, add a second insulating layer on top, such as a fleece or lightweight down jacket, then a third waterproof, windproof layer if the weather turns. In fine weather in the valley, it works perfectly on its own.

Fit & support

Women's Regular Fit: a shirt that hangs straight without being tight

TAPAKILA has a Women's Regular Fit cut, meaning it's neither fitted to the body nor particularly loose. It follows your shape while leaving room in the shoulders and armholes, so you can raise your arms, carry a bag, or crouch without the hem riding up.

The extra room makes it easy to layer: worn next to the skin as a first layer, it comfortably fits a fleece or lightweight down jacket over it. It looks just as good tucked in as left untucked, buttoned all the way up in cool weather or worn open over a T-shirt when the day warms up. The seven front buttons let you adjust how open you wear it throughout the day.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
