On a sun-baked approach to a climbing route, an exposed hiking trail, or a travel day when you end up walking much more than expected, your shorts can make the difference between an enjoyable outing and one you have to endure. MILVUS was designed for days like these, with integrated liner shorts to prevent chafing between the thighs and eliminate the need to wear an extra layer underneath.

Lightweight, quick-drying fabric that protects you from the sun

The outer fabric, made from recycled polyamide and elastane, weighs just 115 g/m², and the shorts weigh 120 g. It wicks away moisture instead of retaining it and offers UPF 50+ protection, which really matters when you spend the day exposed on a rock face or ridge.

Three pockets designed for the pace of your outing

Two front pockets set into the waistband, one at the back, and an inner pocket on the right thigh for your phone or keys: everything you need close at hand, without relying on the pack you left at the base of the route.

PERFORMANCES

UPF 50+ and 115 g/m²: maximum sun protection without added bulk

The outer fabric's UPF 50+ rating means it lets through only a tiny fraction of ultraviolet radiation, the highest level of protection recognized for a textile. This is a real advantage for climbing and high-altitude hiking, where reflection off the rock adds to direct radiation and sunscreen wears off with every pass of a harness or backpack. This protection doesn't come at the cost of extra thickness: the fabric remains 115 g/m², for a complete pair of shorts weighing 120 g, including the inner shorts. Recycled polyamide moves moisture outward rather than holding onto it, reducing the sticky-fabric feeling during exertion and speeding up drying after a shower or a dip in a stream.

Integrated liner shorts and thigh pocket: everything in one piece

The liner shorts sewn into MILVUS are made from a denser knit, 145 g/m² and 90% recycled polyamide, chosen to stay in place on your thigh for hours rather than ride up. The result: no chafing between your legs on a long approach, and one less item to pack. The inner pocket on the right thigh comes in handy when the shorts twist under a harness: your phone or keys stay snug against your leg without bouncing around. The two front waistband pockets and the one at the back are handy for everyday use, while traveling, or during a break.

MILVUS, the first layer for your lower body in summer

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers when the cold sets in and sheds them as soon as the temperature rises. It never carries more than it needs.

MILVUS works the same way. It’s worn as a base layer, the first layer, next to the skin, where it manages moisture: its integrated undershorts replace technical underwear, and its fabric wicks sweat outward. In hot, dry weather, it’s all you need. As soon as the wind picks up or a storm threatens, it slips under a windproof or waterproof overtrouser without adding bulk, thanks to its 115 g/m² fabric.

Fit & support

Active Fit: women's shorts that follow the leg without squeezing

MILVUS is cut in an Active Fit, a close-fitting women's cut without compression that lets your legs move freely on a climbing step or a long trail ascent. The elastane in both fabrics, 22% on the outside and 10% on the inside, moves with you and springs back into place without leaving marks.

Built-in shorts that replace an extra layer

The built-in shorts, made from a denser 145 g/m² knit, stay in place on the thigh and prevent chafing. They mean you don't need to wear tights or technical underwear underneath: MILVUS can be worn directly against the skin, which also makes packing for a long trip easier.

Coupe Active Fit
