Layer system

Did you know? The ptarmigan - our totem animal - changes its plumage according to the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and increases the puffiness of its feathers to avoid cold snaps. The CORUJA hybrid down jacket is inspired by this: it plays the role of an intermediate layer, the one that insulates you from the cold and regulates heat.
To enjoy your favorite activity whatever the weather, here are the basics: layers.
The first layer, called internal, must be breathable, to guide perspiration towards the outside of the garment.
The middle layer is insulating, it keeps the heat in. It is to this second category that CORUJA belongs.
The outer layer protects against the elements: waterproof, breathable, windproof. By building your outfit according to this system, you gain in comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the intermediate layer and then put it back on when you stop. In short, multi-layering is the basis.

Manufacture

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since the creation of Lagoped, we have been constantly exchanging with professionals and enthusiasts to improve each piece. To equip you as best as possible, always with sustainability in mind.
Here's how this hybrid down jacket is made:
The ripstop outer fabric is woven in France, from recycled polyester fibers: these are old plastic bottles that become thread again in Italy. The polyamide thread (inner fabric) is made in Slovenia from polyamide waste such as carpets, rugs and fishing nets.
The weaving and dyeing are done in France (Isère). A little manufacturing secret: the fabric has received a mechanical anti-down treatment (no CHEMICAL treatment). This is what prevents the small threads of the wadding from piercing the fabric and escaping from your down jacket.
The wadding that retains body heat is made in Slovenia from recycled plastic bottles, collected in Europe and re-processed into fibres in the UK. No feathers at Lagoped!
The down jacket is finally assembled in Poland. Which makes it an entirely European product - a small feat for such a technical garment.

Circular economy

To respect the environment and your health, Lagoped does not compromise on anything.
- Polyester threads come from plastic bottles and are manufactured in Italy and Slovakia.
- Polyamide yarns are regenerated in Slovenia. Regenerated nylon is made entirely from nylon waste (including fishing nets, fabric scraps and used carpets).
- As for elastane, it is not yet recycled. But we are working on it with our suppliers to develop our down jacket in the future.
- Weaving and dyeing in France for the interior and exterior fabrics, while the Polyamide/Elastane blend for the side panels is knitted and dyed in Italy.

Outer fabric 78g/m²:
- 100% recycled polyester (r-PET)
- Water-repellent without fluorinated compounds (PFC-free)
Inner fabric 55g/m²:
- 100% recycled polyamide (r-PA)
Side insert 225g/m²:
- 84% recycled polyamide (r-PA)
- 16% elastane (EA)
100% recycled polyester wadding

Care

Machine wash at 30° with the zips closed, as little as possible and with as little detergent as possible. No need for fabric softener: the technical fabric is not a fan. It is better to air dry it on a hanger. No dry cleaning either.
