Pilou, a member of the Lagoped Family for several years, is preparing to complete his mountain guide training, which he began in 2023. While he's spending the summer guiding on the roof of the Alps, he hasn't forgotten his favorite playground: La Meije. Here's the story of a quick bivouac with friends on the iconic ridges of the Écrins massif.
Mont Blanc is good, La Meije is even better!
Back from a month in Chamonix to work as a guide on Mont Blanc, I still have to make my annual pilgrimage to La Meije!
What better way to do that than to camp up there?
The weather window will be short between the stormy evenings, but coincides perfectly with the availability.
So, a beautiful day, leaving from La Grave cable car on Friday to go up to eat an omelette at the promontory refuge, then heading to the summit of Meije via the Normal route.
Summit at 6 p.m. and a superb sunset in perspective!
The night will be calm and we will even enjoy the sunrise the next day before leaving again at 7 a.m. to cross the Meije ridges.
Omelette (again) at the eagle refuge before going back down to the valley, happy with this beautiful moment in the mountains.
