Mountain rescue guides:
the first life-saving actions

IN THE MOUNTAINS, EVERY MINUTE COUNTS. A SIMPLE REFLEX CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

Rescue, emergency and mountain rescue professionals have together created a series of practical guides to help respond to the most frequent emergency situations.

These free tools are here to help you enjoy your mountain outings safely . The first aid guides are schematic diagrams illustrating what to do in case of an accident in the mountains or natural environment. They are intended for experienced users and are not a substitute for formal first aid training.

The first aid sheets were produced based on the recommendations of the Directorate General for Civil Security and Crisis Management (DGSCGC), including the Citizen First Aid (PSC) manual, and the recommendations of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), as well as medical learned societies (French Society of Emergency Medicine (SFMU), French Society of Anesthesia and Resuscitation (SFAR)).

The validation of the fact sheets was carried out by a committee of experts representing the various entities involved in mountain rescue and training, using the Delphi method. Four rounds were required.
