Layer system

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage according to the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and fluffs up its feathers to avoid the cold.

The JULEECE3 is inspired by this: it acts as a mid-layer, insulating you from the cold and regulating heat.

To enjoy your favorite activity no matter the weather, here’s the basics of the layering system:

  • The first layer (base layer): breathable, it wicks sweat away from the body.
  • The mid-layer: insulating, it helps retain heat. The JULEECE3 belongs to this category.
  • The outer layer protects against the elements: waterproof, breathable, windproof.

By building your outfit according to this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During activity, you can remove the mid-layer, then put it back on when resting. In short, layering is fundamental.

Manufacture

We often say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since the creation of Lagoped, we have been constantly exchanging with professionals and enthusiasts to improve each piece, to equip you as best as possible, always keeping durability in mind.

While recycled fleece has been available for a long time, recycled fleece made in Europe is innovative.

  • The recycled polyester fibers come from plastic bottles collected and recycled in Italy.
  • The knitting is done in Spain, near Barcelona.
  • The final assembly is done in Hungary.

The elastane, which makes up 8% of the material, comes from South Korea, a step we have not yet managed to relocate to Europe. The rest of the chain, from polyester yarn to finished garment, is entirely European.

Circular economy

To respect the environment and your health, Lagoped compromises on nothing.

The JULEECE3 is made of 92% recycled polyester (r-PET), obtained from plastic bottles collected and recycled in Italy. This material avoids the need for new petroleum extraction to produce synthetic fibers.

The elastane that makes up the remaining 8% is not yet recycled. This is a focus area with our suppliers to evolve this fleece towards an even more responsible composition.

Composition

  • 92% recycled polyester (r-PET), made from plastic bottles
  • 8% elastane
