Machine wash inside out at 30°C with the zips closed, as infrequently as possible and using as little detergent as possible.

Do not use fabric softener: technical fabrics do not react well to it.

Air-dry on a hanger if possible; tumble-drying is still possible for a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes.

Never iron the membrane. Dry cleaning is not recommended.

To restore water repellency, use a specialized PFAS-free spray.

Our products are designed for lasting quality and performance, with particular attention paid to waterproofing.

The Sympatex membrane ensures consistent waterproofing up to 20,000 Schmerber (20,000 mm water column), which is more than sufficient for most activities.

However, several factors can affect performance over time: extreme temperatures, high humidity, improper storage, continuous exposure to water, UV rays, or chemicals, intensive use (micro-tears), high pressure, or rough handling.

Following the use and care instructions helps maximize the product’s performance and lifespan.

Both jackets use the same Sympatex membrane: identical waterproofing, windproofing, and breathability.

The differences concern practical features: 3 mm zips on the TETRAS versus 5 mm on the EVE; deep hand-warmer pockets on the TETRAS (hiking) versus two Napoleon pockets at chest height on the EVE (ski touring); underarm ventilation (TETRAS) versus side ventilation (EVE); softer twill fabric on the EVE versus a stiffer canvas weave on the TETRAS.

The TETRAS is geared more toward hiking, while the EVE is better suited to ski touring, but both perform well in winter conditions. The choice mainly comes down to pocket preferences, available colors, and budget.

A chemical product is applied to the outer fabric of technical clothing to provide a certain degree of water repellency: water rolls off the outer fabric, delaying its penetration.

At Lagoped, we use a water repellent without fluorinated compounds (PFAS), which are endocrine disruptors. This water repellent does not completely stop water from penetrating the outer fabric: it is the membrane that actually keeps the water out.

As a result of this choice, the outer fabric of our jackets gets wet when it rains more than a few drops. To maintain the water repellency, you can use NST brand PFAS-free water repellent, particularly when the fabric gets wet too quickly in the rain.

Apply the product to the garment while it is still damp (but wrung out) after washing, on a hanger, from a distance of 15cm. Leave it to air-dry, then put the dry garment in the tumble dryer for about fifteen minutes to fix the product through polymerization.

Water-repellent treatment and the membrane do not serve the same purpose: the Sympatex membrane is a true physical barrier against water, while the water-repellent treatment makes water “roll” off the outer fabric rather than being absorbed.

Lagoped uses a PFAS-free water-repellent technology (fluorinated compounds), C0-based and healthier for nature and human health than the older C8 formulas.

The outer fabric will eventually become wet after frequent use or several machine washes, because the water-repellent treatment does not completely prevent water from penetrating it -- the membrane provides the actual protection.

For care: apply the PFAS-free water-repellent spray (NST brand) to the garment while it is still damp and spun-dried, from a distance of 15cm, let it air-dry, then tumble-dry for approximately 15 minutes to set the treatment.

Yes. Our technical garments use the Sympatex membrane, which functions as a “solid” barrier without microscopic pores—somewhat like a plastic film placed between two fabrics. The outer side is hydrophobic, while the inner side is hydrophilic, allowing moisture to be absorbed and then transported outward through pressure differences.

Breathability comes from the membrane’s thinness and internal structure. It provides waterproofing of 20,000 Schmerber. All the seams are heat-sealed inside the jacket.

If you have damaged your garment, know that they can all be repaired.

For a simple repair, a local tailor may be enough. For a technical garment, Lagoped offers a service through a partner workshop that uses matching fabrics and colors.
