Layer system

Did you know? The ptarmigan - our totem animal - changes its plumage according to the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and increases the plumage of its feathers to avoid cold snaps.

The MESDALG shirt is inspired by this: its composition and construction make it a light and breathable product, ideal when it's very hot.

To enjoy your favorite activity whatever the weather, here are the basics: layers.

The first layer, called internal, must be breathable, to guide perspiration towards the outside of the garment.

The middle layer is insulating, it helps keep the heat in.

The outer layer protects against bad weather: waterproof, breathable, windproof.

Harfang tights can be used as a 2nd layer under waterproof pants for skiing or as a 3rd layer when you practice a sustained activity such as running, cross-country skiing, or "pipette-tights" skiing.

By building your outfit around this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the mid-layer and then put it back on when you stop. In short, multi-layering is the basis."

Manufacture

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since the creation of Lagoped, we have been constantly exchanging with professionals and enthusiasts to improve each piece. To equip you as best as possible, always with sustainability in mind.

Here, the process is a little different: we saved a fabric destined for destruction, it was perfectly suited to the final need (a very light and delicately exotic shirt). The fabric is cotton, but upcycled (we call this a dormant stock). By manufacturing in this way, we limit our environmental impact even more, because the material already exists. Then the shirt is assembled in Portugal. Short circuit, as always!"

Care

To respect the environment and make your shirt last, machine wash it on a short cycle and not too hot (30°C is enough), with a natural detergent. Dry it in the open air rather than in the machine.
