TYTO: the long-sleeved T-shirt that regulates temperature in the mountains

On a mountaineering climb, the base layer takes a beating: sweat on the ascent, cold while stopped at a belay, and pack friction. TYTO was designed for this thankless role, with a 145 g/m² upcycled wool knit that retains warmth even when damp and stays breathable when the pace picks up.

Wool that works both ways

Wool absorbs moisture produced during exertion and releases it gradually, helping prevent the familiar chill when you stop for a break. Warm, breathable, and stretchy, it moves with your shoulders without getting in the way, whether you're climbing a route or pushing on your poles.

Details designed for long outings

Side mesh panels release heat from the areas that sweat most, under the arms and along the sides. Thumb loops keep the sleeves in place under a jacket or gloves, and the chest logo stays discreet, with no printed overlay to stiffen the knit.

PERFORMANCES

Upcycled wool, 145 g/m²: warmth that stands up to moisture

You judge a baselayer when you stop, not while you're climbing. TYTO's knit weighs 145 grams per square meter, a midweight fabric that strikes a balance between a summer knit that's too thin and a winter knit that feels stifling as soon as you pick up the pace. Wool has a quality synthetic fibers don't: it keeps you warm even when damp and releases moisture slowly, without the sudden chill you feel in a soaked T-shirt. On a ski tour, that means climbing without overheating, then switching to the descent without having to change. This upcycled wool comes from unused knit fabric stock recovered in France, rather than from fiber produced for the occasion.

Side mesh panels and thumb loops: two details that make a difference on the trail

The sides and underarms are the first areas to heat up when you push hard on a climb. TYTO places mesh panels there, more breathable than the rest of the garment, letting heat escape exactly where it builds up without creating a draft across the torso or lower back. At the wrists, thumb loops keep the sleeves in place: they don’t ride up to the forearms when you put on a jacket, and they overlap neatly with gloves on a climb in cold conditions. Weighing just 142 grams, these details don’t add any noticeable bulk: once you pull on your outer layers, you’ll forget you’re wearing it.

TYTO, the first layer in Lagoped's three-layer system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when temperatures drop. It constantly adjusts its protection, never wearing more than necessary.

TYTO applies the same principle at the base of the system: it's a base layer that stays in direct contact with the skin and manages moisture before the other layers even come into play. It's worn beneath a second insulating layer, such as a fleece or lightweight puffer jacket, which is in turn protected by a third waterproof, windproof layer. In mild weather, it's all you need for a hike or a gravel ride.

Fit & support

TYTO Active Fit Cut: a close-fitting base layer without compression

TYTO is a women’s base layer in an Active Fit cut, meaning it sits close to the body without feeling tight. This constant contact with the skin allows the wool to absorb moisture as soon as it appears, rather than letting it build up under the garment.

Stays in place all day

The long sleeves extend to the wrists and feature thumb loops to keep them in place when putting on a jacket or gloves. The stretchy knit moves with your shoulders and torso without riding up your back when you bend over or raise your arms.

Wear it under any layer

At just 142 grams, TYTO has a low profile and layers easily under a fleece, a down jacket, or a waterproof jacket without adding unnecessary bulk. It can also be worn on its own in warmer weather.

Coupe Active Fit

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
