TANKREC: the recycled-fiber racerback tank top for mountain efforts

On a mountaineering race, the piece you keep on from start to finish is the one worn next to your skin. TANKREC was designed for that role: 110 grams on the scale, 155 g/m² jersey made from recycled polyester and cotton, and a construction without topstitching around the crew neck to prevent any chafing under backpack straps.

A racerback that leaves your shoulders free

The racerback leaves the shoulder blades and trapezius muscles clear, where the pack presses most. Your arms have complete freedom of movement during relay sections, climbing steps, or long approach hikes, with no fabric pulling tight or straps slipping.

Discreet details, designed to last

The Lagoped flag is inserted into the side seam, and the brand signature appears on the chest as embroidery or waterprint, depending on the version. The cotton-polyester blend brings cotton's soft feel while retaining polyester's shape retention and quick drying, a useful balance when alternating sustained effort and wind-exposed breaks.

PERFORMANCES

110 grams: the lightness of a 155 g/m² jersey made from recycled fibers

TANKREC weighs 110 grams. It's the kind of garment you forget you're wearing and pack a spare of without giving the extra weight a second thought. Its lightness comes from the 155 g/m² jersey, a lightweight fabric knitted from 55% recycled polyester and 45% recycled cotton. The cotton feels soft against the skin and resists odors over several days, while the polyester adds durability, stretch resistance, and faster drying after a sustained climb. All without any dye: the fibers are sorted by color before spinning, eliminating a processing step and the water it requires. So it's a lightweight garment, with a lighter footprint from the start, too.

Seamless neckline and side-seam flag: details you don’t see but can feel

For a base layer, construction details make all the difference after four hours of exertion. TANKREC’s crew neck is finished without topstitching: no ridge of thread at the base of the neck, so there’s no irritation where a jacket collar rubs. The same principle applies to the branding: the Lagoped flag is tucked into the side seam rather than attached to the fabric, and the chest logo is embroidered or printed using water-based printing, depending on the version—two options that lie flat against the skin. Nothing sticks out, nothing rubs, nothing catches under the straps of a mountaineering backpack.

TANKREC, the first layer of the Lagoped system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers when the cold sets in and smooths them down again as soon as the temperature rises. It constantly adjusts, never wearing more than it needs.

TANKREC has the same place in your system: the inner layer, the first layer, in direct contact with your skin. Its job is to manage the moisture produced during exertion and stay comfortable for hours. Wear it on its own when the climb heats up, then layer a second insulating layer over it, such as a fleece or lightweight down jacket, and a third waterproof layer when the weather turns bad. It’s the foundation everything else adjusts around.

Fit & support

Racerback cut for women: a tank top that stays in place under a backpack

TANKREC is a women’s racerback top with a close fit that isn’t compressive. The straps narrow toward the upper back to stay in place when putting on or taking off a backpack, and the crew neck sits just high enough not to gape when bending over.

A neckline without topstitching, designed for skin contact

The neckline is constructed without topstitching: no thick seam rubs against the base of the neck, which matters during several hours of exertion with a loaded backpack.

Wear it on its own or under an insulating layer

The soft 155 g/m² jersey slides smoothly under a fleece or jacket. Wear it on its own for uphill stretches in warm weather, then add a layer on top during a break without having to change.

Coupe Regular

Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.
