Michael Lafrasse 🇫🇷
Outdoor Photographer
Michaël is a lover of the outdoor world, and mainly of the mountains. A hunter of beautiful landscapes, he travels around Europe with his van when projects arise.
Originally from Grenoble and a great traveler in his childhood, he ultimately stayed in his cozy nest, because, as he likes to point out: "what's the point of going far when all the wonders are at the bottom of the garden?"
Passionate about hiking, trekking, mountain biking and even ski touring, when he is not behind his camera, he spends a large part of his days practicing these different disciplines, just for fun!
He has been sharing all this on social media and his blog Tas2cailloux for 7 years! It's a pleasure to follow his adventures without any hassle, where the idea is simply to dream and give yourself ideas of places to discover!
ACTIVITIES
A little word about Tas2cailloux?
Tas2cailloux(in reference to the cairns) was born 7 years ago, with the desire to try to motivate people to get out of their homes, to practice an outdoor activity to go and discover the wonderful landscapes that surround us.
At first, it was just an Instagram account where I regularly shared my discoveries, but the blog quickly arrived to add words to these photos.
Today, the goal has not changed: I try to be a source of ideas for outings, outdoor weekends, or road trips. Since the Covid, if you are like me in love with the mountains, you have surely noticed this new clientele in the mountains. So I try, at my level, to bring as much as possible the right actions and advice, through my words or my photos, in order to protect this environment.
Your best memory in the mountains?
It's very recent, and dates back to September 2024! The idea crosses my mind to go up and take pictures at sunrise on the Vercors ridges. The alarm is set, and the weather forecast is simply perfect: not a cloud, no rain, nothing.
The climb begins with a headlamp, and I don't notice the sky as I climb through the undergrowth. Once I reach the summit, a completely unexpected sea of clouds awaits me, accompanied by a spectacular orange sky! I had come for the show, and I got it. That's what I love about nature: it always manages to surprise us. It's not the first time I've seen a sea of clouds (I love chasing them in winter), but when one appears without warning, the magic happens.
What I take away from this is to never judge an environment without having discovered it. There is wealth everywhere in the world, but especially around us!
The trip that left the biggest impression on you?
Iceland! Without a doubt. It's not necessarily next door, but the landscapes, the connection with nature, and the hikes you can do there are all more spectacular than the others.
Going from a mountain to a lava field in one day, passing thousands of waterfalls, this is the land of adventurers.
Whether you're traveling, in a roof tent or by bike, Iceland is the perfect destination.
For my part, I left for a week in a roof tent (much too short) and I visited a good number of well-known spots (https://tas2cailloux.com/roadtrip-et-week-ends/une-week-de-roadtrip-en-islande-en-4x4/).
I can't wait to go back and take my time!
Why the Lagoped Family?
I have been part of the Lagoped family for 4 years now, and it is a real pleasure to be part of this adventure. Thank you! It gives me constant support in my adventures, but above all a human relationship with the teams.
But the main thing is the clothes: exceptional quality (and yet, I put them through the wringer), excellent after-sales service (and above all, free of charge), and above all, local, eco-responsible and environmentally friendly production. So it was quite natural that I joined the Lagoped Family, because the values it upholds are identical to those I try to convey.
Looking forward to discovering the rest of this adventure!
