HARFANG: the warm two-fabric tights for winter outings

When temperatures drop below freezing, tights alone are rarely enough, unless they’re made for it. HARFANG was designed as the pair you pull on in the morning for a snowshoe outing or a run in the cold, without having to layer anything over them.

Two fabrics, two functions

The main fabric is brushed on the inside: this brushing traps a thin layer of air against the skin and provides warmth. The insert is made from a finer, more stretchy knit, placed where the leg works hardest. Both knits are made from recycled ECONYL polyamide with Lycra elastane, for stretch that lasts.

Details that matter on the trail

The elastic waistband sits comfortably under a jacket or backpack without creating pressure points, and the zipped side pocket keeps a key or phone in place during exertion. At 190 g, it slips into a bag without a second thought, as a single layer for winter hiking or as a base layer on truly freezing days.

PERFORMANCES

Brushed knit and ECONYL polyamide: warmth without the bulk

All of HARFANG’s warmth comes from the construction of the main knit, brushed on the inside. This brushing creates a fuzzy surface that traps a thin layer of air against the skin, a principle that is far more effective, at the same thickness, than a thicker, smooth knit. The result: 190 g on the scales for tights that are genuinely warm.

This warmth would mean nothing without moisture management. ECONYL recycled polyamide, which is naturally low-absorbency, transfers sweat to the outside of the knit rather than keeping it against the body, helping prevent a chill when you take a break. The knit also provides UV protection, useful on a snowy plateau where reflected sunlight can be just as strong as direct sunlight.

Stretch panel and zip pocket: ergonomics in motion

HARFANG’s second fabric is a finer knit, made with 22% Lycra elastane, making it more stretchy than the main fabric. It’s placed in the areas that work hardest during exercise, where a scratchy knit alone would eventually restrict movement. That means you can tackle steep climbs on snowshoes or run without feeling any pull.

Another detail you’ll notice right away: the zippered side pocket. It holds a key, a bar, or a phone without bouncing around, and its zipper stays accessible even with an open pair of pants worn over it. The elasticated waistband completes the design, keeping the tights in place throughout your outing without needing to readjust halfway through.

HARFANG are men’s tights with a slim fit, close to the body all the way down the leg. This fit isn’t about looks: tights that stay put won’t bunch up under mountain pants and keep the brushed fabric in direct contact with the skin, where it provides warmth.

The elastane in both knits, up to 22% in the panel, lets your legs move freely uphill, while running, or taking long strides with snowshoes on.
