At the beginning of Lagoped, a meeting.
What followed was not a love story, but a story of friendship. The Lagoped brand was born in 2018 from the union of three mountain enthusiasts who met on the heights of the Alps, which they travel in all seasons and at all altitudes: Christophe Cordonnier, a financial engineer turned entrepreneur, Julien Désécures, an engineer turned mountain guide, and Pierre Derieux, a strategy consultant turned third-place facilitator.
Together, they have made it their mission to put Nature back at the heart of humanity.
This year, on the occasion of Valentine's Day , no promotions or commercial offers. We deliver to Nature what is on our hearts.
In Nature, we leave only the imprint of our steps, but she leaves a much greater imprint in our memories and in our hearts.
Nature is not just a playground. It is a refuge, an inspiration, a breath of freedom. Through the words of the Lagoped Family, we wish to share this unwavering love for the mountains, forests and oceans that surround us.
At the summit of the Matterhorn, bathed in light, the world seemed suspended. The wind whistles between the ridges, silent witness to my ascent, and the snow crunches under my tired but amazed steps. Up there, everything fades away: the tumult of everyday life, the borders drawn by men. All that remains is the immensity, the infinite sky and this mountain that has offered me so much – doubt, effort, wonder.
Nature, you are grand and untamable, gentle and merciless. You challenge us as much as you welcome us, and in your bosom, we are but a heartbeat in eternity.
From ridges to mountain pastures, crossing the Aravis is an ode to the wild. Dawn tints the peaks pink while my steps are anchored in the earth, following the thread of the relief like a silent melody. Each turn reveals a new picture: the austere cliffs, the deep forests, the meadows where the edelweiss dances.
Here, time dissolves in the breath of the wind and the song of birds of prey. The mountain teaches humility and wonder. It reminds us that we are only passing through, furtive guests in its kingdom.
Petrified lava
Petrified in your burning fever
To swallow, to digest, to transform
The living multitude
In an immense and ashen flood
You throw your ember without a past
Storming the green valleys
In the face of your design
Life is deprived of destiny
It is then that eternity
Come and offer you your destiny
Freezing and crystallizing
The power of your momentum
From your river of fire
Wrath and whims of the gods
Only your great body remains, Laid down by fate
Chile, Villarica volcano
My dear,
I am preparing our next date with great care.
Because when I see you, when I'm in your arms, I can't cheat anymore, I can't hide anymore, nor pretend to be someone else. You are as beautiful as you are demanding, but above all you are "real" and I become a little more so in turn, every time I go home, my eyes dreamy, my mouth in a heart, after having had the chance to dance with you once again.
My love for nature is ultimately the gratitude of being able to enjoy simple, sensory things. It is the appreciation of smells, of the touch of the elements that surround me, of the silence that reigns on the high plateaus, then the sight of this nature that inexorably continues its course to the rhythm of the seasons, far from our frenetic humanity.
We grow up with you,
By dint of days, weeks, months or years spent on your summits,
Each step shapes us and promises us,
To advance higher, to embrace a perfect horizon.
We rise thanks to you,
We learn from your inhabitants, big or small,
We also introduce ourselves to each other,
In silence or in the burst of noise.
We discover ourselves,
Each of your invitations leaves a memory in us,
And when we return to the city, we already think only of returning,
Still looking for you in the air and the sighs.
I say "we", but it is above all an "I", which hopes that "they" also feel,
This raw and infinite call,
Because with you, nature, I finally feel a little at home.
Love is not measured in gifts, but in shared emotions and experiences. This Valentine's Day, we invite you to write a love letter to Nature. Take a moment to thank her, to remember what she offers you, to renew your commitment to protect her.
💚 Share your letter with us by email <enora@lagoped.com> or on your social networks with the hashtag #OneWithNature.
Because the most beautiful love story is the one we have with the living world.
