Walfroy Constant - High mountain guide
After studying in Pau and a brief stint in national education by obtaining a CAPES in physical sciences, I focused exclusively on the mountains from 2004 in the Alps. I am in the “Excellence Alpinism Group” of the French Alpine Club session 2001/2002. I obtained my “probationary” at ENSA in 2006 for a final diploma in 2011.
In “bum-mountainner” mode in the mid-2000s, I traveled the major faces of the Alps (North Face of Grandes Jorasses in winter, South Face of Mont-Blanc, North Face of Droites, Barre des Ecrins, etc.). I'm also going to the Andes, Nepal, Morocco, Canada, the USA, Pakistan...
I have been working as an aspiring guide since 2007, first in Chamonix, then as a guide in La Grave and in the Dauphiné. Don't ask me to accompany you to Mont-Blanc, I have already done it more than 50 times... I am president of the Grenoble Guides Bureau from 2014 to 2016.
I supervise several expeditions as a guide: Punta Hiunchulli (7152m in 2011), Exploratory skiing in Greenland in 2013 and 2014, in Norway in 2015 and 2018 and in Sweden in 2017.
I participated in the crossing of the Pyrenees on skis in winter 2012 with Jean René Mineli during which I realized the dimension of the potential to exercise the profession of guide in the Pyrenean chain.
4 years later, I moved to Lesponne (September 2016); I can’t wait to accompany you on “my heart mountains”, those of my first adventures: The Pyrenees!
I joined the director office of the Compagnie des Guides des Pyrénées in December 2017.
