Layer system

The neck gaiter is not a part of the layering system but as we lose a lot of heat through the upper body it is essential to cover it. To wear so that you no longer get slapped by the bitter cold of winter.

Manufacture

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since the creation of Lagoped, we have constantly exchanged with professionals and enthusiasts to improve each piece. To equip yourself as well as possible, always with sustainability in mind. This is how our clothes are made:

The designs are printed using the sublimation technique. A nice term for a well-known physical phenomenon: sublimation is the transition from the solid state to the gaseous state without going through the liquid state. To enhance the neckbands, we first print a sheet of paper to be sublimated then we place this paper on the fabric before passing everything between 2 large rollers (the calender) which heats and presses the 2 supports. With heat and pressure, the ink passes directly into the fabric without bleeding because it has not gone through the liquid state (hehe). Only fabrics that contain a large majority of polyester can be sublimated. An alternative to pigment coloring in water baths.

The polyester thread is recycled in Italy and the knitting and manufacturing are done in France.Elastane comes from Asia: it is a component which gives stretch to the knitting and which constitutes the soul of the final yarn. This step is called "guipage" and consists of putting the elastane inside the recycled polyester thread.

Circular economy

Here, we use a largely recycled material. Polyester yarn is made from recycled plastic bottles which are collected, washed and then crushed to obtain chips which are then melted and spun.

Composition

- 72% recycled polyester (r-PET)

- 28% Elastane (EA)

- Smooth face and brushed back

Care

Machine wash at 30°, as infrequently and with as little detergent as possible. No need for softener. Gentle spin and air dry or tumble dry.
