ACTIVITIES
The 82 summits of 4000+
During the multiple covid-related lockdowns, many of us experienced being isolated, away from friends and loved ones for a few weeks or months. However, this reality is the daily life of many sick children.
In July 2020, setting off to climb the peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, I realized how lucky I was to be able to experience these very special moments in the mountains: this spirit of climbing, this feeling of freedom and these landscapes breathtaking views that make you forget all the worries and worries of everyday life.
It was up there that I decided to give a more altruistic meaning to my climbs. The objective of the 82x4000m challenge is to share the emotions of mountaineering with sick children and help them and their loved ones thanks to this fundraiser.
With now 43 summits on the clock, this year [2024] I am planning the ascent of 15 peaks over 4000m including the crossing of the Grand Combin and the complete crossing of the Grandes Jorasses originally planned for August 2023 but replaced by the ascent of the Dent du Géant and one of the most beautiful mountaineering routes in the Alps: the Kuffner ridge to reach Mont Maudit (4468m).
His biggest dream / His most beautiful memory
Today, my dream is to finish this project which seemed colossal to me at the beginning. I still have some very good races left, like the Puiserey ridge in particular! Once completed, it will certainly call for a new challenge in the Alps or other massifs (Andes, Alaska, Himalayas, Karakorum).
Young father of 2 children, I am very impatient at the idea of sharing great moments in the mountains with my children! I dream of the day when they will say to me: “Dad, do you want to do a certain race this weekend?”
What the Mountain represents for him
There are many different facets of what we call the mountain. There are more friendly activities (canyoning, hiking, skiing) and others more involved (mountain climbing). In the high mountains, during a mountaineering race, I like to rediscover frugality and simplicity (vs. accessories) in a disconnected place, cut off from the world. We are extremely focused on each of our actions and we enter into a meditation and an introspection which allows us to take a step back from our life and sometimes draw certain consequences when we return to the valley. Human relationships within the rope (which I idealize, I admit) are true and powerful because lives are united. In short, we experience a concentration of very strong emotions, we feel life much more strongly. Why do without it?
The Lagoped Family
Lagoped is unique because it is the choice of consistency for mountaineers and mountain lovers. We see all the impacts of global warming, year after year, which forces us to adapt our practice to this new paradigm. Lagoped is the only brand that is truly environmentally friendly, no greenwashing / no compromise.
Being a member of the Lagoped Family is an honor because I am not a professional guide or mountaineer. I am simply a sportsman who loves the mountains in all its forms and who simply wants to share moments of friendship and complicity in this environment while preserving it as much as possible. Conveying the commitments shared by Lagoped, particularly during this 82x4000m challenge, is in my eyes inseparable from my love for the mountains.
