We are not alone !

Photo: Sébastien de Danieli We are part of Nature We love going to the mountains and nature. But we are not alone. The mountain environment is exceptional and fragile. Our presence has an impact, and knowing our environment better means behaving better to reduce our impact. It is not just a backdrop or a playground. So that every participant is driven by a genuine desire to preserve the natural environment and adapt their activity. Especially in winter when animals' survival conditions are particularly difficult. Avoiding humans requires significant energy expenditure that will not be used to escape a predator or fight a microbe. It is paradoxical to seek life at the far end of the universe when sometimes we forget it is within reach of our ski tips and hiking boots. We share initiatives that help inform. Skiing without disturbing An article from Montagnes Magazine that outlines some good behaviors to adopt to prepare and conduct your mountain outing and ski without disturbing wildlife. Be Part of the Mountain An international association presenting fact sheets on animals and good behaviors to adopt. Remember the funnel principle for mountain outings. Biodiv'sports This is a mapping tool developed by the company Makina Corpus. The LPO coordinated the project with support from many partners. It is possible to find sensitive or regulated areas directly on a map and on Camp2Camp. This tool www.biodiv-sports.fr aims to share two types of zones: * sensitive zones established beforehand through a consultation process involving different users of a territory. * regulatory zones impacting a sport practice implemented within public environmental protection policies. Each zone is accompanied by a description, a fact sheet presenting the species and the interactions that each activity may have with that species. For more info, contact: adrien.lambert@lpo.fr
