Goodbye Heliski

A new law dated February 22, 2022, strengthens the commitment to limit noise in the mountains and motorized travel. In recent years, there had been a drift regarding heliskiing, which was appearing in the French mountains through drop-offs in neighboring countries that still allow it despite increasingly organized protests.

We understand the joy of being propelled to high altitude effortlessly, but it must be considered alongside the disturbance caused by the incessant noise of engines making rotations every 15 minutes. This affects wildlife first and foremost, as well as other users who climb by their own means. Thanks to the efforts of Mountain Wilderness France and the FFCAM, the mountains are becoming a little more peaceful for everyone. Let's enjoy it!
