On an approach to a climb, you quickly alternate between warming up on the ascent and cooling down during breaks. SISKIN is made for this rhythm: a breathable, lightweight grid knit, weighing 355 g, that keeps you warm without overheating and dries quickly when your effort eases.

A grid knit that manages perspiration on the ascent

The main fabric, made from 185 g/m² stretch recycled polyester, is structured in cells: the raised sections trap warm air against your body while the channels wick away moisture vapor. This lets you keep the fleece on during a long hike or ski tour ascent instead of unzipping it and taking it off every fifteen minutes.

Details designed for a harness and backpack

The two zippered handwarmer pockets are positioned higher at the waist so they remain accessible with a harness buckled or a backpack hip belt tightened. The close-fitting hood slips under a helmet, the stretch cuffs with thumb loops keep the sleeves in place when you pull on a jacket, and the central 3 mm YKK zipper stays discreet under an outer layer. 185 g/m² recycled polyester grid-knit fabric: warm on the way up, never stifling

An effective fleece doesn't have to be the thickest. SISKIN's main fabric weighs 185 g/m², a midweight fabric that holds in warmth without acting like a puffer jacket. Its grid structure alternates raised sections that trap a thin layer of warm air against the body with finer channels that let perspiration escape. In practical terms, on a sustained hike to a refuge or a steady skin track, the fleece stays comfortable where a solid fleece would have to be opened wide. The recycled polyester dries quickly after a break, and the 8% Lycra XTRA-LIFE elastane keeps it stretchy over time instead of letting the fabric lose its elasticity season after season.

Recycled ECONYL polyamide reinforcements at the shoulders, hips, and underarms

The first parts to give out on a fleece are always the same: the shoulders rubbed by backpack straps and the lower back compressed under a waist belt or harness. SISKIN has recycled ECONYL polyamide panels in these areas, a regenerated fiber made from fishing nets and textile scraps, known for its abrasion resistance. These areas are woven at 145 g/m² at the shoulders and waist, and 175 g/m² at the sides, with a water-repellent treatment that makes powder snow bead up instead of soaking in. Under the arms, the same stretch design prioritizes freedom of movement over wear resistance: the panel moves with your shoulders while climbing without pulling on the grid knit.

SISKIN, the second insulating layer in the Lagoped system

Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air when the temperature drops. It constantly adjusts its insulation, never wearing more than it needs.

SISKIN plays this role in the three-layer system: it's the middle layer, the insulating one. It's worn over a technical base layer next to the skin that wicks away sweat, and paired with a waterproof, windproof outer layer when the weather turns. In dry weather and during sustained exertion, it's often all you need, with the hood up and your jacket stowed in your pack.

SISKIN Active Fit Cut: close-fitting without restricting movement

SISKIN has an Active Fit cut, designed for men and close to the body. It moves with your arms when you reach high while climbing or plant your poles, without billowing under a waterproof jacket. The stretch underarm panel frees up the armholes and keeps the fleece from riding up over your stomach when you stretch.

Wear it directly over a technical base layer, and it slips under an outer layer without adding bulk. The stretch cuffs with thumb loops keep the sleeves in place when you put on a jacket or gloves, and the snug-fitting hood is thin enough to fit under a mountaineering or ski helmet.
