Sarah Maistre - Snowboarder

Born in Annecy, a lifelong resident of La Clusaz, I am a child of the mountains!
I obviously started skiing from a very young age, until the day I wanted to try something else. I started snowboarding at the age of 8.
The very first time I went snowboarding was in class at the ESF. At the end of the class, when my mom came to pick me up, I told her: “I never want to do it again.” I've been doing it for 11 years now...! I started with three years of lessons at the ESF then I joined the La Clusaz sports club. Years of training, competitions, injuries, sick “powder sessions”, in short, my best years of snowboarding.
After 7 years at the club, I chose to stop competing. Today I am a federal instructor, which allows me to pass on my passion to the youngest in the section.
Alongside these years of snowboarding, I started studying sewing in Annecy and when I turned 18 I joined as a volunteer firefighter in La Clusaz. I wasn't really having fun when I was making clothes at school... I couldn't sit still in class, I just couldn't wait to get back to La Clusaz, to get back to the mountains.
It was then that I understood that I had to combine school and a passion for sport and the mountains. I continued sewing, but specialized in technical clothing. I discovered Lagoped thanks to Robin Janvier, and while working at GreenWolf in Servoz, “a doctor of technical clothing” as Christophe would say! ;-)
It was once I entered the world of design and the textile industry that I understood that what was damaging our environment was often ourselves. And Lagoped understood it too!
I am happy to be able to wear a committed, efficient brand that watches over our precious mountains.
