Layer system

Did you know? The ptarmigan – our spirit animal – changes its plumage with the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and fluffs up its feathers to protect itself from the cold. The RIOUPOU SH shorts are inspired by this: they stop the wind.

To enjoy your favorite activity regardless of the weather, here's the basics: layers.

- The first layer, called the inner layer, must be breathable, to guide perspiration to the outside of the garment.

- The intermediate layer is insulating; it helps to retain heat.

- The outer layer protects against the elements: waterproof, breathable, and windproof. RIOUPOU SH falls into this last category. By building your outfit around this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the mid-layer and then put it back on when you stop. In short, layering is essential.

Manufacture

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since Lagoped was founded, we have been in constant conversation with professionals and enthusiasts to improve every piece. To equip you as well as possible, always keeping durability in mind.

Here, we chose Econyl, an innovative and responsible material made from nylon waste. The material is recycled from old fishing nets, fabric scraps... The yarn comes from Slovenia, the material is woven and dyed in Italy, and then assembled in Lithuania.

Circular economy

To protect the environment and your health, Lagoped compromises on nothing.

- Polyamide yarn regenerated in Slovenia. Regenerated nylon is made entirely from nylon waste (including fishing nets, fabric scraps, and used carpets).

- Woven and dyed in Italy.

- Assembled in Lithuania.

Composition

- 79% recycled polyamide (r-PA)
- 21% elastane (EA)
- UPF50+ UV protection by construction (no chemical treatment)
- 175g/m²

To care for your RIOUPOU shorts, machine wash them at 30°C with regular detergent (not too much, and eco-friendly is best!). You don't need fabric softener or anything else (bleach). Then, spin gently, rinse normally, and air dry.
