Cut

We recognize the SUPA2 pants by:

- its warm, waterproof and windproof material, essential for skiing or hiking in winter or ice climbing.

- its cut, neither too sharp nor too wide, tested and approved in real conditions (descent from 6096m of Pic Laila in Pakistan).

- its details which are not: practical pockets, side ventilations, gaiters with openings... Moreover, it is called SUPA2 because it is in its 2nd version, improved thanks to feedback from our community.

- its responsible design from A to Z, from the materials to the production sites.

Layer system

Did you know ? The ptarmigan - our totem animal - changes its plumage depending on the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and increases the fluffiness of its feathers to avoid cold spells.

The SUPA2 pants are inspired by this: they stop rain and wind and retain body heat (more than 30°C on the surface of the skin).

To enjoy your favorite activity whatever the weather, here's the basics: layers.

The first layer, called the internal layer, must be breathable, to guide perspiration towards the outside of the garment.

The intermediate layer is insulating, it helps retain heat.

The outer layer protects against bad weather: waterproof, breathable, windproof. It is to this last category that SUPA2 belongs.

By building your outfit based on this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the intermediate layer and then put it back on. In short, multi-layering is the basis.

Manufacture

People often say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since Lagoped was founded, we have been in constant discussion with professionals and enthusiasts to improve every piece. To equip you as well as possible, with sustainability always in mind. Here is how our clothing is made:

Lagoped fabric consists of 3 different layers that are only a few millimeters thick once assembled.

The outer yarn is Italian (made from recycled plastic bottles),

the weaving and dyeing are done in Ardèche.

The membrane is a polyester made in Europe from scraps of recycled membranes (pre-consumer).

The inner layer is a very, very fine Italian knit, made from recycled yarn.

The three layers are bonded together in Austria before being assembled in Poland. This makes it a fully European product - quite an achievement for such a technical garment.

Circular economy

To respect the environment and your health, Lagoped compromises on nothing.

- 100% recyclable membrane

- Health-safe polyether ester

- PTFE-free

- Bluesign® approval (membrane, laminates, seam-sealing tapes)

- Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification

- Fluorocarbon-free water-repellent treatment (Bionic-Finish®Eco) (PFAS-free)

- Free from perfluorinated hydrocarbons

- Fully recyclable laminates

- Fully recyclable uppers and supports

Composition

- 3-layer fabric made of 100% recycled polyester (r-PET)

- Sympatex recycled polyester membrane (r-PET) 20k – RET<14

- Polyurethane (PU) seam-sealing tape

Care

Wash the SUPA2 trousers inside out in the machine, with the zips closed, at 30°C, using regular detergent (not too much; eco-friendly detergent is a plus) and no fabric softener.

They prefer a gentle spin cycle and plenty of rinsing. Once the garment has air-dried on a hanger, you can put it in the tumble dryer for 10-15 minutes (but no longer), selecting a synthetic-fabric program. This will reactivate the water-repellent treatment, which is initially applied by coating and polymerization, and therefore by heating it.

For the membrane, absolutely do not iron!

No dry cleaning either.

Unfortunately, the water repellency is not permanent and fades over time. Use specific PFAS-free sprays to reactivate it.
