At the beginning of June, I went to Northern Brittany.
For several years I had wanted to take some time to go to this region of France which attracts a lot of people and naturalists. My goal? to see birds on cliffs.
In spring, pelagic birds (birds that normally live offshore) gather in colonies on the coasts to breed.
In France, we are lucky to still have a few colonies like here in Brittany. So for bird lovers, it is a real festival with Guillemots, Penguins, Boobies, Fulmars ...
I spent four days with them, between wind, rain, sun, we quickly become aware of what these animals endure to survive.
When observing them, we cannot ignore the pressures they are subjected to. A striking example is the Atlantic puffin , these little clowns of the seas can only be observed in one place in France; before, they were found on our coastal cliffs.
So let’s go observe these birds to admire and protect them!
