In the heart of the wild Vénéon Valley, the historic birthplace of mountaineering, this course is an authentic immersion to acquire the fundamentals of autonomous hiking. Between legendary peaks and rushing torrents, you will learn to read a map, anticipate the weather, and manage your effort in a high mountain setting, while testing your technical equipment at the foot of the Oisans glaciers.

adventure schedule

  • Day 0: (1 week before) Pre-adventure video call, roundtable, general presentation, focus on equipment and digital tools
  • Day 1: Immersion, first hike, and educational workshops
  • Day 2: Hiking, autonomy, and environment
  • Day 3: Improvement, safety, and review

main objectives

  • Prepare a simple summer hike including: route, terrain, and weather.
  • Choose appropriate equipment and optimize backpack weight management.
  • Recognize environmental issues and adopt best practices to respect the natural environment.
  • Identify risks: safety, communication, conduct in case of emergency.
  • Manage water, food, effort, pace, and logistics over 3 days.
