SWEAREC: the recycled cotton zip-up hoodie knitted in France

Some pieces are thrown on without a second thought, at the parking lot, during a break at the refuge, or in the evening after a run. SWEAREC is one of them: a zip-up hoodie in 330 g/m² brushed fleece knit, warm enough to keep you cozy when you stop and flexible enough to forget you’re wearing it.

Dense brushed fleece knit that holds in warmth

The 330 g/m² fleece keeps warm air close to the body without the stiffness of a classic sweatshirt. Recycled elastane adds the stretch often missing from cotton knit: raise your arms, put on a pack, and the garment moves with you and returns to shape.

Simple details, designed for everyday use

The full-length zip lets you open or close it in one motion when your pace changes on the climb. The two side pockets are concealed in the seams and closed with an invisible zip: a handy place to keep a phone or keys without disrupting the sweatshirt’s clean lines or risking dropping everything when you bend over.

PERFORMANCES

330 g/m² fleece: the warmth of a dense knit without the stiffness

All of SWEAREC's thermal performance comes from its 330 g/m² fleece. This is the weight of a true winter knit: the brushed interior traps a layer of air against the skin and helps offset the drop in temperature as soon as you stop, whether at the pass, during a snack break, or in the evening at the refuge. Recycled cotton provides the feel and structure, while recycled polyester keeps the knit stable over time, wash after wash.

This fleece is knitted in France, in Moreuil, from yarn spun in Spain. Because the fibers are sorted by color beforehand, the shade is achieved without a dye bath, eliminating a water- and chemical-intensive step.

Recycled elastane and concealed zip pockets: comfort in the details

A mountain sweatshirt should keep up with the movements you make without thinking: raising your arms, putting on a harness, slinging a pack over one shoulder. Recycled elastane, made in Germany and integrated into the knit, gives the fleece the stretch it needs to move with you and then return to its original shape, with no baggy elbows or sagging hem.

For storage, the two side pockets are hidden in the seams and secured with invisible zips. You get the clean lines of a city sweatshirt with the security of a closed pocket when you bend down to tie your shoes or crouch on a scree slope. The full-length center zip lets you ventilate or zip up again in one quick motion when the pace changes.

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap air and protect itself from the cold. It constantly adjusts its insulation, never wearing more than it needs.

SWEAREC plays exactly this role in the three-layer system: the mid-layer, or second layer, whose job is to retain the heat produced by the body. It is worn over a technical base layer next to the skin, and under a waterproof, windproof outer layer when the weather turns. In dry weather, it works on its own, with the zip open on the climb and closed as soon as you stop.

Fit & support

Regular-fit SWEAREC: a unisex sweatshirt to wear alone or under a jacket

SWEAREC has a regular fit—not tight or loose—with a unisex cut that falls straight at the hips and leaves room in the shoulders. It’s the fit you want in a mid layer: enough room for a technical T-shirt underneath, but not so much bulk that it gets in the way of a waterproof jacket on top.

The fleece knit with recycled elastane moves with you: it stretches when you raise your arms or load up a bag, then returns to shape without losing its form. The ribbed cuffs and hem keep the sweatshirt in place as you move, and you can wear the hood under or over a jacket hood depending on the wind.
