Trace in Morvan territory
The first Gravel Lagoped line.
Day is barely breaking over Étang Taureau. A thick, almost palpable mist dances on the water's surface, transforming the landscape into a moving tableau. This is where it all begins. Between coffees and shared laughter, we meet up with our travel companions. The air is crisp, but the eagerness to set off into this French "Little Canada" is already warming spirits.
We equip ourselves with precision:
The fitted CARDUELIS jersey, the technical bib shorts, and the CORUJA technical down jacket, worn until the very last moment, a barrier of warmth before the effort. The bikes are ready, the drivetrains lubricated. The morning silence is broken only by the clicking of the freewheels.
Between land and water
The trail winds its way through dense fir forests and along forgotten country roads, always returning to the tranquility of the lakeshores. It's there, by the water's edge, that refueling takes on a festive air. We debrief on the kilometers covered, admire the durability of Lagoped materials against the elements, and realize that riding here is like traveling somewhere else entirely.
Here, the land is a language.
The roots meander, demanding, and the ferns turn burnt orange, heralding the birth of autumn. Then comes the regressive pleasure: the forest transforms into a journey through "murky waters." We plunge into puddles, defy the mud, our faces speckled but our smiles genuine. This is the very essence of gravel riding: the freedom to get the beautiful dirty in order to touch the real.
