CORUJA: the hybrid down jacket that keeps pace with mountaineering

On a ridge traverse, the cold doesn't wait for a break: it sets in as soon as you slow down, then disappears as soon as you pick up the pace again. CORUJA was designed for these stop-and-go days, when you don't want to sweat in a jacket that's too warm or shiver while waiting for your climbing partner.

Insulation where you need it, stretch where you move

The body is insulated with lightweight, breathable recycled polyester padding (80 g/m²), protected by a water-repellent, windproof ripstop fabric. Stretch panels on the sides take over to let heat escape and follow shoulder movements, whether you're climbing or handling lines on a boat deck.

Features designed for real-world use

Two zippered hand pockets, one zippered chest pocket, a high collar that protects the lower face, a hood, and elasticated hem and hood that keep drafts out. The YKK 5 mm two-way center zipper opens from the bottom to clear your harness without unzipping the whole jacket, while the YKK 3 mm pocket zippers stay discreet under a backpack.

PERFORMANCES

0°C comfort for 450 g: CORUJA's warmth-to-weight equation

CORUJA provides thermal comfort around 0°C at just 450 g, a ratio that changes the way you pack. The insulation comes from 80 g/m² of 100% recycled polyester fill, a synthetic fiber that retains its insulating power even when wet—a key advantage when handling ropes in cold weather or staying exposed to sea spray.

A wind-blocking ripstop shell

The recycled polyester ripstop outer fabric (75 g/m²) blocks the wind and has a PFAS-free water-repellent finish that makes sleet and drizzle bead up before they reach the insulation. On the inside, 55 g/m² of recycled polyamide lets water vapor escape during exertion. The jacket packs down easily in your bag as soon as the sun comes back out.

Stretch side panels: hybrid performance for freedom of movement

That’s what makes CORUJA a hybrid rather than a classic puffer jacket: on the sides, the insulation gives way to a 225 g/m² stretch knit made of recycled polyamide and elastane. These panels do two things. They move with your arms when you reach for a hold while climbing or trim a sheet, without the jacket riding up over your stomach. They also release heat where your body produces the most as you climb, so you don’t have to open the center zip every time you pick up the pace.

Details that stay put under a harness

The 5 mm YKK two-way center zip lets you free the bottom of the jacket to reach your harness or trouser pockets without exposing your torso. The hand-warmer pockets and chest pocket, all with 3 mm YKK zippers, keep their contents secure on steep terrain.

CORUJA, the second insulating layer in the Lagoped layering system

Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to trap air and keep warm as soon as the temperature drops. It constantly adjusts its insulation, never wearing more than it needs.

CORUJA plays exactly this role in the layering system: it’s the midlayer, the one that traps body heat. It’s worn over a technical base layer close to the skin, and under a waterproof jacket when snow or rain sets in. Its PFAS-free, windproof and water-repellent ripstop fabric also makes it suitable to wear on its own in dry, cold weather, making it a piece you’ll keep on for much of the day.

Fit & support

CORUJA Active Fit: a down jacket that moves with you

CORUJA is cut in Active Fit, a close-fitting but not tight cut designed for a man's build and for moving during exertion. It follows the torso to prevent excess bulk under a waterproof jacket, while leaving room for a technical base layer or a thin undershirt underneath.

Stretch zones that move instead of pulling

The stretch side panels (recycled polyamide and elastane) move with wide arm movements, whether climbing, belaying, or working out at the bar. The elasticated hood and hem keep the jacket close to the body without adjustments to handle with gloves, and the high collar zips up to the chin when the wind picks up.

Coupe Active Fit

SIZE GUIDE

Make your equipment last
