20 October to 17 November 2026 - From textiles to the summit, exhibition on dormant stock - Lyon

New, flawless rolls of fabric, sometimes left untouched in a warehouse for decades: this is the starting point for From Textile to Summit, an exhibition created by feat coop and Lagoped. From October 20 to November 17, 2026, it will be on the upper floor of the Lagoped Refuge on rue Ferrandière in Lyon, telling the story of how dormant stock becomes a mountain garment.

The exhibition grew out of a meeting between two organizations committed to a more circular approach to clothing. On one side, feat coop, a Lyon-based cooperative giving unused textile stock from French manufacturers a second chance. On the other, Lagoped, an outdoor clothing brand founded in Annecy that designs mountain garments built to last. Their collaboration gave rise to the TYTO T-shirt, a base layer made from wool fabric that had been left unused.

Why an exhibition? Because the fashion industry has a major impact on the environment and on the working conditions of the people who make our clothes, and because other ways of producing already exist. The goal is to bring them to light and show that dormant textile stock can become a brand-new, flawless garment, ready for the mountains.

The journey opens our eyes to everything that goes into a technical garment: the material, the expertise, the manufacturing stages and the resources needed to produce it. Above all, it invites us to question our production models and the role of reuse in the textile industry.

The exhibition unfolds in four stages. It begins with touching the surplus stock: new textiles from overproduction or canceled orders, put back into circulation by feat coop, a Lyon-based cooperative founded in 2020. Next, follow their transformation, from pattern-making in Annecy to assembly in Lithuania, culminating in the TYTO T-shirt, a base layer made from merino wool using 321 meters of rescued fabric. The exhibition concludes by stepping back to consider the impact of textile production and the alternatives already available, from secondhand clothing to repair.

6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Opening of the Du textile au sommet exhibition at Refuge Lagoped, with the feat coop and Lagoped teams behind the project in attendance. An opportunity to discover the journey with the people who designed it and discuss surplus stock.
