Cut

The PTARMIGAN2 SH shorts are recognizable by:
- their two-tone look
- their two-material construction: a very stretchy, soft and lightweight fabric as the main material, for maximum comfort, and ripstop fabric for reinforcement, which is water-repellent, stretchy and durable enough to tackle any type of rock.
- their well-designed, practical pockets for storing everything
- their sustainability: they are made from recycled nylon waste

Layer system

Did you know? The ptarmigan – our spirit animal – changes its plumage with the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and fluffs up its feathers to protect itself from the cold. The PTARMIGAN2 SH shorts are inspired by this: they keep out the rain and wind.
To enjoy your favorite activity regardless of the weather, here's the basics: layers.
- The first layer, called the inner layer, must be breathable, to guide perspiration to the outside of the garment.
- The intermediate layer is insulating; it helps to retain heat.
- The outer layer protects against the elements: waterproof, breathable, and windproof. PTARMIGAN2 SH belongs to this last category. By building your outfit around this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the mid-layer and then put it back on when you stop. In short, layering is essential.

Manufacture

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since Lagoped was founded, we have been in constant dialogue with professionals and enthusiasts to improve every piece. To equip you as well as possible, always keeping durability in mind. Here, we chose Econyl, an innovative and responsible material made from nylon waste. The material is recycled from old fishing nets, fabric scraps... The yarn comes from Slovenia, the two materials are woven and dyed in France and Italy, then assembled in Lithuania.

Circular economy

To protect the environment and your health, Lagoped compromises on nothing.
- Regenerated polyamide yarn made in Slovenia. Regenerated nylon is made entirely from nylon waste (including fishing nets, fabric scraps, and used carpets).
- Woven and dyed in Italy for the main fabric, and in France (Isère) for the secondary fabric
- Assembled in Lithuania with a PFAS-free water-repellent treatment.

Composition

Main fabric:
- 79% recycled polyamide (r-PA)
- 21% elastane (EA)
- UPF50+ UV protection by construction (no chemical treatment)
- 175g/m²

Secondary tissue:
- 97% recycled polyamide (r-PA)
- 3% elastane (EA)
- 200g/m²

Care

To care for your PTARMIGAN shorts, machine wash them at 30°C with regular detergent (not too much, and eco-friendly is best!). You don't need fabric softener or anything else (bleach). Then, spin gently, rinse normally, and air dry.
