There are mornings when you leave the hut before daylight, when the cold sets in as soon as you get out of your sleeping bag, and you don’t feel like thinking about what to put on. SWEECE was made for that moment: a 300 g/m² fleece with a lambswool finish, warm enough for the approach and simple enough that it never stays at the bottom of your pack.
The 300 g/m² recycled polyester fleece traps air against your body and provides an immediate feeling of warmth, without the stiff look of a classic technical fleece. It’s the kind of layer you keep on during a break, when the wind dies down and the temperature suddenly drops.
The half-length front opening fastens with three snap buttons, easy to use even with thin gloves, and lets you open the collar to release heat on the climb. The zippered chest pocket keeps essentials close at hand, while the snug cuffs block cold air from getting in under the sleeves.

PERFORMANCES
All of SWEECE’s warmth comes from its 300 g/m² recycled polyester fleece, a generous weight for a fleece of this kind. Its lambswool-style brushed structure creates multiple air pockets trapped between the fibers: it’s this still air, not the material itself, that insulates against the cold. The result is instant warmth as soon as you pull on the fleece when leaving the refuge or stopping on a ledge.
This fleece is knitted from Newlife Yarns® fiber, made from recycled plastic bottles and spun in Italy, then dyed in Spain. At just 400 grams, it provides a second layer that keeps you truly warm while mountaineering, without using a single virgin fiber.
SWEECE’s front half-opening doesn’t close with a zipper, but with three snap buttons. It’s a deliberate choice: open them with one hand on the climb, wearing thin gloves, to release the heat building up around the collar, then close them just as quickly when the wind picks up on a ridge. No slider to look for, no pull tab to get caught under a backpack strap.
The zippered chest pocket stays accessible with a harness or backpack on, and its zipper secures anything you really don’t want to lose on a run. The snug cuffs complete the design, preventing cold air from creeping up your forearms with every movement.
Did you know? The ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: it turns white in winter to blend into the snow and fluffs up its feathers to trap warm air against its body. It constantly adapts to the temperature without ever wearing more than necessary.
SWEECE plays exactly this role in the layering system: it is the midlayer, the second layer, whose function is to retain the heat produced by the body. It is worn over a technical base layer close to the skin, designed to wick away perspiration, and slips under a waterproof, windproof outer layer as soon as the weather turns. In dry weather, it is often enough on its own.
Fit & support
SWEECE has a Regular Fit, neither tight nor loose. It follows your silhouette without feeling restrictive, leaves your shoulders free to raise your arms on a climbing move or adjust your pack, and stays close enough to the body to fit under a waterproof jacket without adding bulk.
Wear it directly over a technical base layer, with a third layer on top, without restricting movement. The snug cuffs keep the sleeves in place when you put on a jacket, and the half-length opening lets you adjust ventilation at the collar to suit your pace without having to take off the fleece.
Coupe Regular
Coupe intermédiaire à travers le buste, avec assez d'aisance pour superposer une couche technique en dessous sans compression. Les manches gardent une bonne liberté de mouvement pour les activités outdoor du quotidien, de la randonnée aux sorties en montagne.
