Layer system

The headband is not part of the layering system, but since a lot of heat is lost through the upper body, it is essential to cover it. Wear it to stop the biting winter cold from slapping you in the face.

Manufacture

People often say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since Lagoped was founded, we have been in constant dialogue with professionals and enthusiasts to improve every piece. To equip you as well as possible, always keeping durability in mind. Here is how our headband is made: The designs are printed using sublimation. A fancy term for a well-known physical phenomenon: sublimation is the transition from a solid state to a gaseous state without passing through a liquid state. To sublimate neck gaiters, we first print a sheet of sublimation paper, then place this paper on the fabric before passing the whole thing between 2 large rollers (the calender) that heat and press the 2 materials together. With heat and pressure, the ink passes directly into the fabric without bleeding because it has not passed through a liquid state (hehe). Only fabrics containing a high majority of polyester can be sublimated. An alternative to pigment dyeing in water baths. For the material to be printed: The polyester yarn is recycled in Italy, then the knitting and manufacturing are done in France. The elastane comes from Asia: it is the component that gives the knit its stretch and forms the core of the final yarn. This step is called "covering" and consists of placing the elastane inside the recycled polyester yarn.

Circular economy

Here, we use a material that is largely recycled. The polyester thread is made by recycling plastic bottles that are collected, washed, and then ground into flakes, which are subsequently melted and spun.

Composition

- 72% recycled polyester (r-PET)
- 28% elastane (EA)
- Smooth face and brushed back

Care

Machine wash at 30°, as little as possible and with as little detergent as possible. No fabric softener needed. Gentle spin and air dry or tumble dry.
