Pre-orders
At Lagoped, pre-ordering is a production method that allows manufacturing in Europe to be launched in line with actual demand, without overproducing or stocking unsold items. Pre-ordering a Lagoped piece means reserving a new item before its official release, while supporting a more sustainable manufacturing approach.
Why Lagoped offers pre-orders on certain new items
Outdoor textile innovation takes time: developing a new recycled material, adjusting a technical fit, validating performance in the field before production. Pre-ordering allows Lagoped to better anticipate manufacturing volumes for new pieces, rather than producing a standard volume based on an estimate. This reduces the risk of overproduction, a key issue in textiles where unsold items represent a significant part of the sector’s environmental impact.
This approach mainly concerns two types of new items: pieces that incorporate a technical innovation or a new recycled material, and updates to existing references, such as a second version of a fleece or an accessory already in the range. In both cases, pre-ordering provides priority access to the new item before it is available in regular stock.
Categories regularly involved in pre-orders
The pre-order selection is constantly evolving, following the releases and innovations validated by the Lagoped teams. It most often concerns mid-layers, technical fleeces, and insulation pieces that regularly benefit from new recycled materials or improved constructions, such as redesigned ventilation grids or differently placed reinforcements. Base layers and mountain accessories like caps, beanies, and headbands are also categories that frequently go through a pre-order phase before their full launch.
Whatever the category, each pre-order respects the same commitments as the rest of the Lagoped range: manufacturing in Europe, recycled materials, and no PFAS. Innovation never concerns these fundamentals; it focuses on added technical features, better sweat management, more efficient insulation at equal weight, and constructions that better withstand the friction of mountain gear.
How a pre-order works at Lagoped
Each product page for pre-orders indicates an estimated shipping date, usually between a few weeks and two months after the order, depending on the production schedule. The order is confirmed immediately, but shipment only occurs once the piece is produced and inspected.

Frequently asked questions about pre-ordering outdoor clothing
How does pre-ordering outdoor clothing work?
Pre-ordering allows you to reserve a piece before it is available in stock, usually because it incorporates a newly validated technical innovation or a new recycled material. Payment is made at the time of order, and shipping occurs once production is complete, with a date indicated on each product page.
Why buy by pre-order rather than wait for stock availability?
Pre-ordering gives priority access to a new item before its official release, often before stock is open to the general public. It is also a way to support production adjusted to actual demand rather than an estimate, which limits the risk of textile overproduction. At Lagoped, every pre-order maintains the same commitments as the rest of the range: manufacturing in the European Union, recycled materials, no PFAS, and a 5-year warranty from the moment you receive the piece.
