At the dawn of Lagoped, a meeting.
What follows is not a love story, but a story of friendship. The Lagoped brand was born in 2018 from the union of three mountain enthusiasts who met on the heights of the Alps, which they explore in every season and at every altitude: Christophe Cordonnier, a financial engineer turned entrepreneur, Julien Désécures, an engineer turned high mountain guide, and Pierre Derieux, a strategy consultant turned community space facilitator.
Together, they have made it their mission to put Nature back at the heart of humanity.
This year, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, no promotions or commercial offers. We deliver to Nature what we have in our hearts.
In Nature, we leave only the imprint of our steps, but she leaves a much greater mark in our memories and in our hearts.
Nature is not just a playground. It is a refuge, an inspiration, a breath of freedom. Through the words of the Lagoped Family, we want to share this unwavering love for the mountains, forests, and oceans around us.
At the summit of the Matterhorn, bathed in light, the world seemed suspended. The wind whistles between the ridges, a silent witness to my ascent, and the snow crunches under my tired but amazed steps. Up there, everything fades away: the turmoil of daily life, the borders drawn by men. Only the vastness remains, the infinite sky, and this mountain that has given me so much – doubt, effort, wonder.
Nature, you are grand and untamable, gentle and ruthless. You challenge us as much as you welcome us, and within you, we are but a heartbeat in eternity.
From ridges to alpine pastures, crossing the Aravis is an ode to the wild. Dawn colors the peaks pink while my steps anchor in the earth, following the contours like a silent melody. Each turn reveals a new scene: the austere cliffs, the deep forests, the meadows where edelweiss dance.
Here, time dissolves in the breath of the wind and the song of birds of prey. The mountain teaches humility and wonder. It reminds us that we are only passing through, fleeting guests in its kingdom.
Petrified lava
Petrified in your burning fever
To swallow, to digest, to transform
The living multitude
In a vast and ashen flow
You launch your ember without past
Assaulting the green valleys
Facing your design
Life is deprived of destiny
It is then that eternity
Comes to offer you your destiny
Freezing and crystallizing
The power of your momentum
Of Your river of fire
Wrath and whims of the gods
Only your great body remains Laid down by fate
Chile, Villarica volcano
My dear,
I prepare our next date with great care.
Because when I see you, when I am in your arms, I can no longer cheat, I can no longer hide, nor pretend to be someone else. You are as beautiful as demanding, but above all you are "real," and I become a little more real in turn, each time I come home, dreamy-eyed, lips pursed, after having had the chance to dance with you once again.
My love for nature is ultimately the gratitude of being able to enjoy simple, sensory things. It’s the appreciation of smells, the touch of the elements around me, the silence reigning over the high plateaus, then the sight of this nature relentlessly following its course with the rhythm of the seasons, far from our frantic humanity.
We grow with you,
After days, weeks, months, or years spent on your peaks,
Each step shapes us and promises us,
To move higher, to embrace a perfect horizon.
We rise thanks to you,
We learn from your inhabitants, big or small,
We also get to know the other,
In silence or in the burst of a sound.
We discover ourselves,
Each of your invitations leaves a memory within us,
And when we return to the city, we already think only of coming back,
Still searching for you in the air and sighs.
I say "we," but it's mostly an "I," hoping that "they" feel it too,
This raw and infinite call,
Because with you, nature, I finally feel a little at home.
Love is not measured by gifts, but by emotions and shared experiences. This Valentine's Day, we invite you to write, in turn, a love letter to Nature. Take a moment to thank her, to remember what she offers you, to renew your commitment to protect her.
💚 Share your letter with us by email <enora@lagoped.com> or on your social networks with the hashtag #OneWithNature.
Because the most beautiful love story is the one we have with the living world.
