Did you know? The ptarmigan—our spirit animal—changes its plumage with the seasons. It turns white in winter to escape predators and increases the fluffiness of its feathers to ward off cold.
The UKPIK jacket is inspired by this: it blocks rain and wind and retains body heat (over 30°C at the skin's surface). In very cold weather, simply add a mid-layer for even more warmth. Essential for all your mountain activities.
To enjoy your favorite activity whatever the weather, here's the basics: layers.
- The first layer, called internal, must be breathable, to guide perspiration towards the outside of the garment.
- The intermediate layer is insulating, it helps keep the heat in.
- The outer layer protects against the elements: waterproof, breathable, windproof. UKPIK belongs to the latter category.
By building your outfit around this system, you gain comfort and versatility. During exercise, you can remove the mid-layer and then put it back on afterward. In short, layering is the foundation.

Fabrication

We often like to say that we make our mountain clothing with you. Since Lagoped's creation, we've been working tirelessly with professionals and enthusiasts to improve each piece. To equip you as best as possible, always with sustainability in mind. Here's how our clothing is made:
Here, we favored Econyl, an innovative and responsible material made from nylon waste. The material is recycled from old fishing nets, fabric scraps, etc. The thread comes from Slovenia, the material is woven and dyed in Spain, and the jacket is assembled in Hungary. Short circuit, as always!

Économie circulaire

To respect the environment and your health, Lagoped does not compromise on anything.
- Regenerated polyamide yarns from Slovenia. Regenerated nylon is made entirely from nylon waste (including fishing nets, fabric scraps and used carpets).
- Woven and dyed in Spain
- Assembled in Hungary and water-repellent treatment without fluorinated compounds (PFC-free).

Composition

- 180g/m² fabric
- 71% recycled polyamide (r-PA) - yarn made in Slovenia from polyamide waste (used carpets, fabric scraps, fishing nets, etc.)
- 18% polyamide (PA) - made in Israel
- 11% Elastane (EA) - made in South Korea and Japan
- Fabric made and dyed in Spain

Entretien

To respect the environment and make your pants last longer, machine wash them on a short, moderately hot cycle (30°C is sufficient), using a natural detergent. Air dry them rather than machine dry them.
Quick tip: The way you use your clothes, and especially washing them, accounts for 14% of their environmental impact. Think about it!
