A wealth of information to collect

This is the key step without which the rest is not possible. You need to know in detail what you are doing throughout your entire value chain. Fortunately, this is Lagoped’s DNA and somewhat our “secret sauce.” For you, an EVE jacket is "just" a piece of clothing. For us, it is the result of 25 assembled components. Luckily, not all garments require this level of detail, but there is never a single component.

We record all the information in a computer system provided by our partner C-Design. This system is called Product Life Management (PLM) in the textile world. It allows us to track the creation process of all our garments and to record sourcing information.

For each component of each garment, we record its supplier, weight, composition, place of manufacture, mode of transport used to the next assembly point, etc. For this step, the key is a good partner relationship, and we have been able to rely on our various European suppliers to obtain all the necessary information. We also add drawings, colors, measurement charts, and patterns. All the essential elements to move on to the manufacturing phase (made in).

If a brand does not know its value chain well and therefore has little information to communicate, its final score will be C. So there is a premium for knowing in detail what you do.

All these elements are then extracted by our partner PEFTrust to move on to the calculation phase. This allows the calculation process to be industrialized and opens up the possibility of calculating a very large number of products.

We can then proceed to calculate the environmental impacts.
